Shake It Up

This slump is obviously not going to end without some action on our parts. Do something different today. Order something different for lunch. Walk home using a different route.

No tie for me today.

I'll do my part.
I'm gonna' have Equal in my coffee today instead of Splenda.

C'mon everybody.
Pitch in.
Our lads need your help.

So I should wear men's clothes?

Isn't this how George Costanza landed his job with the Yankees?

"chicken salad on white bread with a cup of tea!!" rather than tuna on toast with coffee, (although everyone knows that salmon is the opposite of tuna)

This morning, instead of the New York Daily News and the Philadelphia Inquirer, I read the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

(I read it yesterday, too. For their preview of the Mets-Yankees finale, they said that the Mets will "invade Brooklyn" to play their crosstown rivals.)

I started the IGT 8+ hours early, rather than wait until the 3rd inning.

Glavine is the Man! He is the greatest Mets pitcher, if not the greatest overall, of all time. I love him. I'm naming my son Tom Glavine Point.

I may think a good thought for the first time in two weeks.

Instead of going to the game tonight, which I ordinarily would've done, me and my 8-11 record at Shea this year stayed home. Hmmm...

For tomorrow, do you do whatever it was that you did today? Or do you change more things tomorrow?

Didn't they used to play Shake It Up on the Yankees ads?

Anyway, I moved into a new office today, that's pretty different.

Delgado shook it up and wore his socks high with good results.

No doubt Carlos' high socks were key. The socks must stay!

I guess we'll have to shake some more

Just so we're clear, shake the way you shook on Monday, not Tuesday.

Carlos needs to wear his socks up to his ears.

The socks thing isn't working. I'm open to suggestions.

Other things I've come up with:

1. Brawl. I think the Mets could use one to get a little life in them. We'll give them until the 3rd to mix it up with the A's. If nothing happens, we storm the dugout in the 4th.

2. Scapegoating. This is a little tough. Beltran would have been a pretty good candidate but he had 3 hits last night. All of the starters have had at least a decent start somewhere in there. I guess in a pinch, we could blame this on Benitez...the Mets haven't been the same since his meltdown at Shea.

3. Voodoo.

I think the socks work but it must rotate. Delgado goes back to normal length but Beltran wears the high socks, next day Reyes wears the high socks, etc. It's the only way.

well, i think its clearly number 3. how could the mets troubles possibly be un-related to armando benitez?
