Japanese Relievers?

For all the bad luck the mets have had with Japanese pitchers, why not go after some Japanese relievers for our pen?

I'm pretty sure i'm a bit short sighted but with how Okajima and Saito are doing, and how Sasaki was for the mariners have there been bad Japanese relievers?

I know we had takatsu a couple years ago, but he wasn't horrible when he was with the mets. Even in his time with the whitesox, his first year was actually pretty decent. he started to falter a little but, but made his way back to decency with the mets.

That said, I don't know of any player in particular, or if it would even be allowed to do something midseason, but, just a thought. i'm kinda jealous of the success that Okajima and Saito are having.

Relievers (except closers) are probably the easiest for a GM to aquire,I see no reason to go after a Japanese one unless the Mets think he's the best fit for the team, and certainly I don't like the idea of bringing a guy in from Japan in the middle of the season with all the ajustments he would need to make....better to have a full spring training with the team first.

At least this is more specific than "We need someone in the bullpen." This is "We need someone Japanese in the bullpen."

The Mets also are critically short on Samoan middle-relievers. And I understand the Moroccans may have a few relievers who could help. Also Aleutians, Pygmies, Cockneys, Bulgarians, and Swedes represent much-neglected sources of bullpen help.

How great would it be to have a reliever who spoke in Cockney slang! I'd pay extra just to have the mound conversations between Willie, LoDuca, and the infielders miked.

"No, I'm not frowing this bloke the easy; 'e owns it. 'it the last one frew 'him a coke."
"Excuse me?"
"Am I talking to myself 'ere? You fink I'm 'avin' a Thomas? I put the last easy right on the Frank and 'e 'it it to the looney. No, I'm frowing moss or nuffing."
