I used to make much cruder versions of such contraptions when I was a kid. In fact, I might put "Making convoluted mousetraps" on the list of "Strange Things I'd Do All Day if I Could." The thing is, I found slinkies to be notoriously unreliable in the area of consistent repetition of the same delivery.
