Just a side thought as Wagner cruised through the 10th ... I'd like to see Reyes cool it a little on the sidelines sometimes. Funny thing is, I thought that on one replay and then on another elder statesman Franco is fist pum- ping and jumping around in the same frame along with Jose. It is the Cardinals, and they used to hate that back in the day. Never mind.

Well, the best part of their pen is gone ... but so is ours. Top of the order doesn't even get the ball out of the infield off of Thompson. Who's left beyond Schoeneweis; Smith & Sele? And only Castro left on the bench I think.

I'm still fuming. For him to cough that up after they worked so hard to tie it is just unacceptable. Of course, if we had a better bat on the bench than Julio Franco we might have won it in the bottom of the ninth.

I wonder if a DL stint is in order to get Pelfrey on the roster. Otherwise, Joe Smith has to go down, or we play a man short on the bench. I don't really like either of those two options.
