If the Mets can't score runs off of Anthony Young tonight, you know we're in trouble.

CARDINALS:
Taguchi - CF
Ludwick - LF
Pujols - 1B
Encarnzcion - RF
Rolen - 3B
Bennett - C
Miles - 2B
Ryan - SS
Reyes - P

=blue]METS:
Reyes - SS
LoDuca - C
Beltran - CF
Wright - 3B
Delgado - 1B
Green - RF
Easley - 2B
Gomez - LF
Glavine - P

And there'll be a late start due to rain

theres alot of crap in that cardinal lineup. 3-4-5 are the only guys that really belong starting in the majors.

I like Paulie gunning down Pujols at second to end the first.

Wright with a two run kaboom in the first.

Encarnarcion hits a drive toward the left field corner, but Gomez says, "I got that."

7 in a row since DW's HR. This isn't acceptable.

Eight in a row.

Luckily, Glavine is on cruise control through 5 innings. Scott Rolen's single is the only hit he has allowed.

Let's score some damn runs now. Or at least get a hit or two.

If Reyes could rip one off of Reyes, we could get some insurance runs. Come on Jose.

Jose leaves it up to LoDuca to get a 2 out hit to drive in the runs.

No such luck as Paulie grounds out to second.

second rain delay of the night, i hate those

It is raining very hard here. Not that I root for this kinda stuff, but calling it here would be OK the way we've been going.

So what are we up to now, 9 hits in the last 27 innings (two long games plus one short one) or something like that?

If we can take two of three while doing that we should consider ourselves very lucky.

You know, we can villianize the kickable relief pitcher of the moment all we want, but if we don't leave them any margin for error, one of them is going to get tagged.

And I'll happily argue that So Taguchi belongs in the Major Leagues.

Did we win yet, or is this delay going to keep dragging?

Worse, 7 in the last 17...worse because those seventeen were mostly against two of the worst starters in the majors.

Woo-hoo! Let's hear it for hollow victories!

Does Glavine get credit for the shutout?

i said starting in the majors

taguchi is 37 years old and has a career line of .283/.334/.398 (a 91 OPS+) that doesn't really cut it in the outfield

Tom Glavine throws a Complete Game Shutout!

Absolutely.

Yeah, the stats have been updated, and he's now got one complete game and one shutout.

Funny, since they no longer count no-hitters and perfect games that don't go nine innings.

Trachsel was credited with a complete game in last year's rain-shortened game against the Phillies.

I wonder if this is going to be the only shutout, or even the only complete game, for the Mets this season.

Now I can call him Six-inning Tommy.
