Did anyone know Lo Duca was OPSing to .700 coming into today?

I did not.

Benjamin Grimm
Jul 04 2007 06:21 PM

It appears that young Mr. Wright has hit a three-run homer in the top of the first inning.

hitting like .350 on the road and .220 at home or something like that too.

they said on the radio that the Mets scored in the 1st inning in 10 of their past 13 games (including today), what i want to know is how many times did they leave runners in scoring position or fail to score more htan 1 run afterwards?

lets add to the lead!

And another early lead surrendered.

Anyone see Alomar's uni number?

Nymr83
Jul 04 2007 07:11 PM

I can't fault the pitching because the offense has been the real problem, but it would sure be nice if we could get a lead early and NOT give it back.

duque at about 75 pitches through 3.

JD: according to mets.com, Alomar Jr. is #19.

Nymr83
Jul 04 2007 07:34 PM

duque loads the bases for the 2nd straight inning in the 4th and walks home a run. 4-3 bad guys.

Jul 04 2007 07:34 PM

First eephus = cool.

Second eephus = lameo scaredy cat pitch.

Nymr83
Jul 04 2007 07:35 PM

6-3 now on a ball Reyes threw away. i'd guess single, rbi, and an E allowing the 2nd run home.

Thanks!

As if we needed more to suggest Lino Urdaneta shan't return.

We should PH for Hernandez last inning.

Reyes throwing the ball into or over the camera well might just be enough
for me to say I've seen eneephus of this series and look forward to the next.

105 pitches in the 4th, 6 walks all in the 3rd and 4th innings. end this guy's misery.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 07:40 PM

This jumping in for the early lead and then kicking back and watching the lead float away... welll... it's getting old.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 07:41 PM

Reyes responds with a one-pitch out.

Pbbbtttt!

Nymr83
Jul 04 2007 07:44 PM

LoDuca just tripled! (yes someone fell down)

Beltran hits a sac fly to make it 6-4 Rockies.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 07:45 PM

Gonna miss those Lo Duca wheels during his suspension.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 04 2007 07:46 PM

Let's get it back.

Nymr83
Jul 04 2007 07:51 PM

Mota doesn't waste time giving the run right back on a 1-2 meatball. Get him back on the 'roids.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 07:53 PM

Give him back to Piazza.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 04 2007 08:09 PM

Edgy DC

Willie should tell the clubhouse man to set their clothes on fire. Tell them all, if they don't like it to look at themselves. And then to look at Mota.

Keith sure knows how to talk some shit during a blowout.

So Gary was talking about how at Coors Field the sun sets over left field and it makes playing first base a bitch,in all other MLB staduims the sun sets behind home plate......odd no?..

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 08:35 PM

We need Valadius to make up some ugly nicknames.

Let's see how many RBI Helton can get tonight!

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 08:37 PM

Oh, fuhshititz.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 04 2007 08:40 PM

Put in Julio Franco to pitch here. Just wave the white f-ing flag. This team sucks.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 08:45 PM

Let Alomar.

2007 Mets are a medicore team from top to bottom....much like many others...Don't expect to much...

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 08:52 PM

It isn't Independence Day, of course, without George Plimpton.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 04 2007 08:54 PM

When is Delgado going to announce his retirement?

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 08:55 PM

We could have gotten this from Mo Vaughn.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 08:57 PM

Schoeneweis pitching on the road. We're gold.

Look to the silver lining. Like the 2005 Padres, the Mets will win a division title by default. So we can all look forward to watching them go 3-and-out in the NLCS.

I was just wondering to myself the the NL East is the worst division in baseball.

The AL East has only 1 .500 team.

Damn, when I left to take the kids to see the fireworks, we were winning. I couldn't believe it when I saw a 15 on there. Did Mota have a complete meltdown or something? Yikes!

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 09:17 PM

It's called baseball, people.

Let's get Lo Duca that cycle.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 09:20 PM

Gad, Keef's ADD is on overdrive.

Mota was a disaster.

Reyes did nothing to help him.

Jul 04 2007 09:36 PM

Gotta love Lo Duca getting himself a 14-pitch at-bat in the ninth inning of a blowout getaway game.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 04 2007 09:36 PM

LoDuca gets + 0.25 of Schaefer for having a 13-pitch at-bat in the 9th (grounds out).

Beltran then crushes the 1st pitch he sees off the wall.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 09:41 PM

OK, we pulled within 10.

Edgy DC
Jul 04 2007 09:41 PM

Poo. No Alomar.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 08:24 AM

So, what was the fate that had us unable to get the last out in the fifth?

Two outs and a runner on first. We're down 7-4, disheartnening, but certainly it's still a game in Colorado.

A batter reaches on a fair ball that was actually foul.

Another reaches on a ball in the 3-4 hole that sure seemed playable by either 3 or 4.

Then Reyes lets Holliday beat out an infield hit.

Now some of that is bad luck, but the team had each play within their agency and came up short. Although, to be fair to the Devil, Mota had done his job. (His first three runs first three runs not so much).

It's sequences like this that are maddening during these periods.

Our teenaged terms for innings where pitchers cough up large amounts:

Five-run inning = giving up a Partridge.
Six-run inning = giving up a Brady.
Seven-run inning = giving up a Walton.
Eight-run inning = giving up a Bradford.
Learn these terms. The Mets have been forcing them back into usage.

Yes but the AL East has one great team compared to zero for the NL East so it is a stronger division.

Which great team do you mean, Willets?

Willets Point
Jul 05 2007 09:30 AM

The one that's leading the majors in winning pct.
