Bidge - 2B...that's not meant to be Lidge is it..has he given up pitching?

Gwreck
Jul 05 2007 05:49 PM

Bidge = nickname for Biggio.

Jul 05 2007 06:08 PM

Reyes: first triple since June 2.

Ledee: First RBI since Little League.

Remember when Jason Jennings destroyed us? Hit a few homers and shut us out... it might have been his 1st or 2nd career start.

His ass has become really enormous.

Jul 05 2007 06:14 PM

Not that either of those first two ABs were Pence's (CF) or Berkmna's (1B) fault ... but Houston is a bad fielding team in that they've got about 5 guys on the field at one time whose best position is LF/DH/1B

(and, once again, we don't know our enemy as well as we should)

Frayed Knot
Jul 05 2007 06:17 PM

two in the top of the 1st ... will probably be our last as per recent trends.

His first MLB start...only pitcher in history to throw a compete game shutout and hit a homer in his maiden game...thanks Gary.

I don't believe Gary shared that xtra tidbit about the size of Jennings' caboose.

CPF: You get the whole story here.

So Gary brings up the Rockies series and they show a clip of Willie talking about it,his usual cool self, then Keith spends five minutes talking aobut the fucking yankees and how they handle things...who gives a shit man.

Frayed Knot
Jul 05 2007 06:45 PM

Don't worry 'bout leaving them bases loaded like that Carlos ... it's not like we're gonna need those runs later or anything.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 05 2007 06:45 PM

Maine looks extra crispy tonight.

Jul 05 2007 06:50 PM

Delgado with warning track power...double of the wall...430 foot away.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 06:50 PM

New strategy, put the pill on the hill.

Frayed Knot
Jul 05 2007 06:50 PM

Pence actually caught one of Ryan Howard's drive on that hill the other day, right up against one of those flag poles.

Just Delgado's luck tho huh? Hit's one 430+ and gets only a double.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 05 2007 06:52 PM

Not for nothing but if Delgado would only improve a lot of our other issues would go away.

I said the same thing about my complexion in high school.

Astros announcers tell me that the Mets are 17-8 when Rastro is in the lineup.

Edgy DC

Go Maine.

Aflac trivia in Houston. Fonzie is the answer.

Kid Carsey
Jul 05 2007 07:19 PM

That was some game by Edgardo.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 05 2007 07:19 PM

It turned Seventeen to Thirteen.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 07:22 PM

I'm glad that bouncer down the third-base line wasn't the first hit.

The gain of Maine makes LaRussa look insane.

metirish
Jul 05 2007 07:23 PM

And the guy form teh Pirates won his ninth game today...did LaRussa actually get to pick Oswalt...Young won the online vote.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 07:28 PM

All of a sudden, Luke Scott is Joe Rudi.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 07:35 PM

I know he was once a top prospect, and maybe he's a wunnerful guy or something, but I fear no team that puts Eric Munson in uniform. He symbolizes more than anybody (even Easley) those awful Tiger teams of the early eighties.

I nonetheless applaud Houston for returning him to catcher after all these years. It's like he's finally realizing the legacy of his name.

John Maine says "you want to leave ME off the allstar team?"

6 innings, no runs, 8 k's.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 05 2007 07:56 PM

And the 'Stros have been hot lately.

Maine is being a legit stopper right now.

Wright looking fastball and goes down chasing the deuce.

I feel real vulnerable when David gets fooled.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 08:01 PM

Delgado has had a good day, getting his batting average up to .240 and his OBP above .300.

great, only +.030/.040 to go for respectability.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 08:12 PM

Don't think I won't be desperately ticking those decimals off.

Edgy DC
Jul 05 2007 08:14 PM

Keith Hernandez playing first for Houston?

Nymr83
Jul 05 2007 08:14 PM

a second half monster delgado would be nice, but the way he's looked i'm not optimistic.

i missed whatever you're talking about...Lance "i should be a DH" Berkman made a nice play?

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 05 2007 08:18 PM

Thing is, I can't imagine any deadline deal that really helps us enough if Delgado doesn't *also* improve, at least to median respectability. Well, unless it's a trade that replaces Delgado which is nearly unimaginable.

Little greedy here with Maine?
