Tripped

The .330 BA Reyes pulled in June (June Swoon thread) surprised me since I was just thinking that it seemed like weeks since we'd seen Reyes rip one into the gap and run like hell.

And it has! Our boy has surrendered his NL triple lead to Rollins (10-8) and hasn't hit a triple since June 2, and only that one since May 16.

Whassup?

Would the lack of a consistent number two hitter be making the difference?..

I don't think the #2 hitter has anything to do with it.
I mentioned a while back that Reyes simply hasn't been driving the ball as consistantly since around the 1st of May compared to April and the 2nd half of last season.

Getting his walks though. And if the batters behind him would drive him home more consistently, it's not outrageous to think he'd get fewer walks and more hits.
