I don't consider LoDuca as a snub,he got beat in a fan vote...Maine should be there,it's a flawed system that every year leaves worthy plaers at home.

Cole Hamels has great stuff. But his ERA is 3.87. At this point I'd say Maine is a better pitcher.

Very heated argument last night on Baseball Tonight between Phillips and Kruk and Eric Young(i think it was him),Young and Kruk thought Rollins got jobbed,Kruk asking(shouting) Phillips the old nugget of who he would want at bat with two men out in the ninth,I forget the situation, game tied man on third I think,Rollins or Reyes..

well, last year, jose reyes had a 1.343 OPS with RISP, 2 outs, compared to rollins' 0.726 OPS, good for only about 7th among starting NL shortstops.

Screw Rollins. If there was a shortstop snub it was Hanley Ramirez.

How about quoting Jose Canseco's wife?

i think the 1 per team rule needs to be scrapped. there are 10 guys more deserving than Dmitri Young (by the way, if i were the Nats i'd be looking very hard at sending him to an AL-team for a prospect or two.)

I don't mind the rule. For a lot of years, it was the only way one of our boys got to the game. Unless, of course, it was the year Bleepin' Benitez was our sole rep and of course didn' get into the game. And I believe that was his last time in a Mets uniform. As for Maine and some of the others, it's early. We always see a bunch of "injuries" pop up in the week before the game, or guys who start on Sunday and won't be able to pitch, so they back out. (This doesn't count the infamous Barry Zito debacle of 2003 when Selig deemed Zito "injured" -- which was news to Zito -- to put Clemens on the roster because they thought it was his last year.)

i like the 1-per-team rule. not only does it keep the less-fortunate teams interested, but it also sets up much more interesting post-ASG-ballot announcement discussions.

you can make an argument for hanley, renteria, and rollins deserving to be on there.
