All this place needs is good old #52 for that old school feel.

When I try to post the first time each time I come to the new site it redirects me to the main choose-your-forum page and only after I re-enter that forum and that thread will it let me post.

My only complain is that the display is wider than my screen requiring me to scroll to the right in order to read everything.
Am I the only one? Can it be fixed?

Does the banner scroll off the right side of your screen? Or does the combination of the phpBB graphic and the banner fit okay, but only the posts scroll off?

I'm not having the problem, but I have my screen set to be 1,024 pixels wide.

admin
Jul 06 2007 11:42 AM

That's kinda weird, is your screen resolution set to 1024 x 768? If it's less
that's the only reason I can think of why that might happen.

Just a side note, cranepoolforum.net now points to this board. Please change your bookmarks to cranepoolforum.net and not the http://cranepoolforum.qwknetllc.com/phpbb2/index.php one as I'm not sure how long that one is going to be working.

I've had that problem with only one post so far...and that was Iubitul's post about the billboard. I was thinking that was due to the picture he posted.

I'm curious to see if I have the same problem using my laptop from home tonight.

Nice job, everyone...much appreciated.

Can I ask a dumb question,thanks.

Is there a place in my profile to have only twenty posts per page, seems that the pages are not going from one to two.

Disregard this question.....

Both the main page and every post falls off the right side.

Edgy DC
Jul 06 2007 12:04 PM

Don't scroll. I'm hiding something there.

Try this.

> Go to your start menu.

> Select Control Panel.

> Choose the Display icon.

> Select the Settings tab.

> Dial up your screen resolution a click.

> Repeat as necessary.

I LOVE the painting of Shea and the Unisphere in the new masthead. Wouldn't it be sweet if they really were so close together? I always thought it was a shame that you couldn't see it from the seats.

Heck, when you think about it, the way Shea is facing affords the worst of views. North would show you the bridges, west the Manhattan skyline and south the park and Unisphere. East, and we have chop shops.

I understand why is faces that way, just lamenting.

I love that the threads with new posts i havwn't read keep that "sticky-note" icon next to them even when i click on other threads and then go back to the forum. the old board didn't do that.

but otherwise i like it a lot. anyway we can have the same background color as the sky in the masthead - that's a pretty, mellow blue.

Changing the settings on my screen accomplishes nothing.
And, more to the point, why would THIS place be the only website, forum, whatever I visit that is too wide for the screen?

FK - what is your screen resolution set to?

If it's set to 800 x 600, then the masthead and the phpbb logo at the top are what's causing it. they combine for 920 pixels across, which would make every page too wide for you.

Kid Carsey
Jul 06 2007 05:44 PM

Ok, so couple of questions ...

What operating system and version are you using?
What browser are you using and what version?

OE: You first mentioned it during the day today, is it occurring on a 2nd
computer now meaning that maybe you were on a work computer today
and now it's happening at home?

I never got an email.
Kept getting "not available" when I clicked on my CPF bookmark.

Kept messing around and finally found the new place. Went to the .net instead of .com and here it was.

Good job.

You need to rewatch 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Get kraken on it.

MFS62: >>>I never got an email. <<<

There was nothing special about who got an email, it was globally sent to
all registered users using the admin control panel to the address you used
to register your account. About a dozen were returned as undeliverable, but
yours wasn't one of them. Your address of record is an aol account with your
first initial and your last name.

Don't get me started on aol.

EDC: >>>You're not buying the frosty FFFFCC?<<<

Doesn't go, to my eyes. How is off-yellow frosty? Colors and contrasts are
grouped for a reason. It's one thing for an artist to have license and do what
they want with color, but for a message board I just think it's better to be con-
servative and not pick things that don't go with each other.

The orange on the screen shot above is enough of a departure for me. I'm
just saying, it's not something I'm gonna go the mat over.

The greys work well and that's the best shade of orange.

The orange just doesn't seem to work for me. I would replace the orange trim with either black or Met Blue.

That wouldn't work. The color of the trim is also the color of the Author and Last Post columns on the page that lists the threads. If we went with black, those columns would be unreadable.
