i'm in a magazine!

woohoo! i'm famous! or at the very least am viewable by literally dozens of people! page 92 of the august 2007 runners world has me and mrs. metsmarathon doing our thing in the walt disney world half marathon. never before have i been so proud! sadly, they neglected to interview us. or even identify us. (lousy cheapass magazine...) but there we are, the featured runners in the photo! sweet.

I was hoping to find an online image of the picture, but the online version of Runners World has no coverage the Walt Disney World half marathon. I guess I will have to go hang around the magazine rack at the local pharmacy along with all the teenage boys in order to be amongst the dozen or so individuals to see you picture. Look out Centerfield, marathon will likely have his sights set on your kingly crown now that he famous. In all seriousness, congratulations on your new found fame and your many accomplishments as a runner.

Dark singlet with white trim down the side between the goofballs with the Statue of Liberty hats or is THAT you?

one of the goofballs is a friend of my wife's mother... and yeah, with the wifey taking a tentative, momentary lead on me. interestingly enough, although the article is about the half marathon, the picture is from the full marathon the next day. we know 'cos we were farther ahead of the goofballs during the half, and slightly differently attired.

But by the time that photo was taken, i had already finished, gone home, showered, and sat down to eat some calamari.
