I hope that night off got Valentin's game legs --- such as they are --- back under him.

He's scaring me. He got all of a pitch two days ago and it died at the warning track. Here in the Juice Box.

Ledee optioned.

Would indicate that another OF (Milledge) will be with the team when after the ASB.

Ugliness. 1st and 3rd, no outs and we can't get a single run home.

As per Howie and Tom on the WFAN broadcast, El Duque wasn't available for the game last night. Would've been Castro pitching if they ran out of pitchers.

They also mention that Feliciano has left town early for a family-related thingy.

Johnny Dickshot

Would Humber have been a worse choice?

Don't worry, Schoeneweis didn't throw all that much yesterday. Maine and Pelfrey are also available out of the 'pen.

Geez. Don't the Mets have anybody in the minors that can come up and not suck?

Kid Carsey

7-sniffle with no outs in the 4th, not the way you want to go into the break.

Gwreck
Jul 08 2007 01:16 PM

Damnit, get Williams the hell out of there.

Nymr83
Jul 08 2007 01:18 PM

i'd throw Pelfrey in there right now.

Kid Carsey

I think Williams is gonna sac-lamb one for the team.

Jul 08 2007 01:20 PM

I'm sorry, but watching Newhan run around out there in left is making me
laugh out loud.

Don't think he can -- coming back off injury, probably has a pitch count. He's up to about 100 now.

Kid Carsey

Yeah, you're right.

Newhan showing off the gun.

The Mets deserve this for letting a huge opportunity go by in the first. They know this; everyone knows this.

I remember that one. I'd say let's start Gotay here on out, but I'm not sure how good he is. He's 25 now and didn't get much PT on Freakin Kansas City.

Getting in a hole with a fill-in pitcher against Oswalt, that's one thing.

But show some heart and fight back a bit.

Didn't Sele just bat 16 hours ago?

A kaboom for Beltran after Newhan's second hit seems like a step in the right direction.

Edgy to forum: I've spotted some heart.

Welcome back, Sandy.

Bring it on, Castro.

Reyes stealing with 5 runs down?

He's now tied with HoJo for 2nd all time on the Mets steals list.

We are going to have to pick up the heart pace a little if we would like to win this game.

For what it's worth, the Mets pen has now thrown 17 scoreless innings in this series.

Johnny Dickshot

Valentin, step into my office.

You're fired.

Now scram.

Kid Carsey
Jul 08 2007 02:24 PM

Fuckin' Valentin.

Edgy DC
Jul 08 2007 02:26 PM

Valentin is bad for the heart.

Kid Carsey
Jul 08 2007 02:33 PM

Newhan not as funny as before, I apologize to him.

Kid Carsey
Jul 08 2007 02:35 PM

If a whack comeback is in order, who better than to have Wheeler on the hill?

Nymr83
Jul 08 2007 02:43 PM

not a good road trip, but i'm ok with going into the All-Star break 2 or 3 up (depending on Atlanta today.)

Kid Carsey
Jul 08 2007 02:43 PM

No (real) MLB action until Thurs.

I'd like to see more Easley and less Valentin at this point.

More Goat also. Ballantine just isn't right. He was hurt and mostly useless for two years before the Mets got him. It's too wishful to think he can perform hurt now.
