Nice touch with Pete Flynn, seriously though was Seaver drunk,he sure sounded drunk to me,Ralph was great...very nice tribute to him.

cleonjones11
Jul 14 2007 05:58 PM

Seaver had some trouble speaking and looked a little pissed when Ralph mentioned Seaver was the losing pitcher in the 1969 WS...Koos looked a little tipsy also..

If you get a chance between innings, turn on the MFY game and see the DRays pitcher, Stonnestine or whatever. His windup is straight out of 1890.

I'd actually like to see the Mets score tonight.

Uh, is that twice that Delgado has ended an inning with two men on and
showing that sparkling warning-track power in only three innings?

metirish
Jul 14 2007 06:37 PM

I turned over,he's got good stuff and no probelm changing arm angles and such....he needs a throw back jersey.

Willets Point
Jul 14 2007 07:02 PM

Score a freakin' run you putzes!

Willets Point
Jul 14 2007 07:05 PM

Gotay wants some Schaefer.

Willets Point
Jul 14 2007 07:13 PM

The putzes score a freakin' run!

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 14 2007 07:17 PM

You shoulda asked them putzes to score 2 or 3.

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:18 PM

Sorry to be late to the thread. I was at the NSO. Somebody upload Kiner on streaming video.

Kid Carsey
Jul 14 2007 07:21 PM

What's the NSO?

1-1 through six and a half. Would be nice to get Glavine a W and inch closer
to that 300 mark.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 14 2007 07:22 PM

It's been a pretty sharply played game by both sides. Mets can't get the big hit, Reds only got a big hit (solo HR by Phillips).

I can't imagine Belisle goes unscathed for the 4th time through the Mets lineup: He's been nicked the first three and mostly got away with it.

Willets Point
Jul 14 2007 07:22 PM

Is Ralph retiring from broadcasting? Keith's goodbye had a ring of finality to it.

DocTee
Jul 14 2007 07:24 PM

four pitch walk for glavine a good start to the seventh

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:25 PM

National Symphony Orchestra. Free. American composers, on the pops side of things.

BERNSTEIN
Overture to Candide

BARBER
Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 14

RODGERS
Carousel Waltz, arr. Don Walker

COPLAND
El Salón México

GROFÉ
"Sunset," from the Grand Canyon Suite

WILLIAMS
"Adventures on Earth" from E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial

Why can't Keith be the hitting instructor?

bmfc1
Jul 14 2007 07:25 PM

Fire the hitting coach! Somebody tell Reyes to take a friggin' pitch after the pitcher issues his first walk!

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:26 PM

And why does Reyes swing first pitch after Glavine gets walked?

Willets Point
Jul 14 2007 07:28 PM

Score 2 or 3 more freakin' runs yeh putzes!

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 14 2007 07:30 PM

This team is ruining my liver.

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:30 PM

Wright fouled off two fat pitches there.

bmfc1
Jul 14 2007 07:30 PM

Glavine singles and the three all-stars do nothing.

Willets Point
Jul 14 2007 07:31 PM

I blame the inability to rally on "Everybody Clap Yo' Hands".

Kid Carsey
Jul 14 2007 07:31 PM

I hope Reyes isn't becoming an island in his own mind.

I googled NSO and quickly got ...

Nurse Service Org
National Solar Observatory
National Symphony Orchestra
National Statistics Office
Neighborhood Service Org

... so I hadda ask.

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:32 PM

bmfc1 is posting everything I'm thinking.

Can you telll me what that stands for, so I'm not thinking big mutha fuckin' cock every time I read one of your posts?

bmfc1
Jul 14 2007 07:36 PM

Edgy--it's because we're almost neighbors! Maybe we'll meet on August 17 or 18. Although your guess scares me!

Can we get this pastey old man a win?

Glavine retires Adam Dunn, after a tough 10 pitch battle, to open the 8th. Luckily, Connine grounds back to the mound on the first pitch he sees.
Lopez goes down swinging to end the inning.

The Mets need to score runs and get Glavine a well deserved win.

Lets Go Mets!

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 14 2007 07:44 PM

Remember when Shawn Green was a home run threat?

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:44 PM

No more Volare, okay?

Kid Carsey
Jul 14 2007 07:46 PM

Green keeps Glavine's two-hitter through eight bid for a win alive.

This O is depressing, ten or eleven hits should produce more than one run.

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:46 PM

OK, let's see Milledge waste a junk-tossin' lefty.

And let's evict those Yankee hats sitting behind the first-base dugout.

Kid Carsey
Jul 14 2007 07:46 PM

Lastings hears my song.

Johnny Dickshot

Go Lastings go!

Edgy DC
Jul 14 2007 07:47 PM

Hell, Griffey could've made a better throw than that.

How pissed are you if you're a last-place Reds fan:

  1. Interim skipper letting a junkballer face Miledge

  2. Despite Milledge taking him deep last night

  3. That jive-assed air-mail throw

  4. Stanton doesn't bother backing up.

Edgy DC

I half wonder if Cincinnati isn't going to leave town without Griffey.

Rockin' Doc
Jul 14 2007 07:51 PM

I am glad that Easley will generally assume the role of RH pinch hitter coming off the bench. Julio Franco just didn't instill any confidence in me this season.

HBP for Easley. Come on Reyes.

There's a doubleheader and an off day in between, but right now Glavine would be projected to pitch August 5 (the Sunday game at Wrigley). Fingers crossed for you that he goes on the 4th instead.

7/14/07 - Ralph Kiner Night and Ryan's first night at Shea. Not a bad game to make your debut. By my count there were in the house:

4 Hall of Famers
Ralph Kiner
Tom Seaver
Bob Feller
Yogi Berra

3 Future Hall of Famers
Rickey Henderson
Tom Glavine
Ken Griffey Jr.

Am I missing any? I wish Pedro had been there.

Hopefully Wright, Reyes, Milledge, Maine, Beltran, and Delgado all play well enough going forward to qualify for Cooperstown.

Thanks guys.

Mrs. CF is the photographer. If there ever is born a CPF Wifey Watch, maybe I'll find a good pic.

Not to be overlooked in the picture is the Mets car in Ryan's hand. That little car cost me $8! But it did buy me a happy son for several innings.

It looks like it might be a little pickup truck. We used to have a Cleveland Indians one. Well, I'm sure we still do. Little boys never lose their Hot Wheels, metirish!
