Seems that Willie is giving Valentin a good look.

Hello? Is this thing on??- 2-0 pods in the third...

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 08:52 PM

The gameboy homers: 3-0 bad guys.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:05 PM

'nother stolen base for JVal-- looks like his legs are feeling better...

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:11 PM

I'm tuning in, and therefore let this rally happen now.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:15 PM

How disappointing.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:16 PM

I suspect many of the NY regular posters have been delayed on their trek home by the massive subway disruption caused by the steam explosion.

Or they just decided it wasn't worth staying up past midnight three days in a row.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:20 PM

Motherfather-- 4-0.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:22 PM

Where's ZVON with his "unite...assemble" mojo when we need it?

Frayed Knot
Jul 18 2007 09:24 PM

Holy Schneike, Maddux gone after 5 !!

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:25 PM

Yes, but the SD pen has been lights out this season- not sure this is catching a break at all.

Jul 18 2007 09:26 PM

I wonder if Cla Merideth ever caught the guy who stole his 'Y' from him?

G-Fafif
Jul 18 2007 09:27 PM

I love how Gary Cohen continually disses Maddux for bailing early in games.

metsguyinmichigan
Jul 18 2007 09:27 PM

Remember when we used to score runs. That was always pretty cool.

Grumble.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:33 PM

I can't see how San Diego pulling Maddux isn't a good thing. Especially since Heath Bell is due for a pounding.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:35 PM

If there's a player in the world named Kouzmanoff, he should be a Met.

G-Fafif
Jul 18 2007 09:37 PM

In promoting the upcoming Day/Night doubleheader at Shea, Gary said he understood there was one there in 1972. Sure enough, b-r lists a doubleheader against the Dodgers on May 11, a Thursday (the day we got Willie Mays), with two separate attendance figures. I have no recollection of this.

Anybody?

Yes, let's fuck that fat guy up. I'm tired of wound-licking self-abusing Met fans basically cheering for a guy for whom it's not enough to pitch well and show up the trade but to spell out all manner of pre-trade abuses and excuses to anyone with tape recorder. FU Heath Bell! It's time someone pounded the message of baseball being a humbling game into that precious ERA of yours already.

I like your style Dickshot....Delgado with a fucking home run.

Johnny Dickshot

Ka-freakin-blam.

Warm him up, Bud Blackheart. I dare ya.

Jul 18 2007 09:43 PM

Great effort by Cameron.....Black goes to the pen....

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:44 PM

The reinforcements are here just in time for the comeback.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:44 PM

Nice timing by Mike Cameron.

Really nice.

Not nice enough.

The San Diego announcer just knocked the head off of a David Wright dummy in the booth.

Bell time.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 18 2007 09:45 PM

Well here he comes. Mister I-Sucked-But-It's-Your-Fault. Heath "Tearduct" Bell.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 18 2007 09:48 PM

He looks gassed, Bud. Better get him another box of donuts between innings.

Batty31
Jul 18 2007 09:51 PM

I guess Willie is waving the white flag...

Darling told a great story about Doug Sisk, over the off-season Sisk gained quite a bit of weight and was not able to lose it all in spring training, and on opening day when he was introduced to the fans at Shea to a chorus of boos two snickers fell out of his pockets while running onto the field.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 09:54 PM

Nice showing by Blow-enweiss there. Really.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:55 PM

I'll take Schoeneweis here.

Announcers are remarking on Schoeneweis bearing a facial resemblence to Roger Clemens.

I'm squinting a lot, and seeing nothing.

G-Fafif
Jul 18 2007 09:57 PM

Cameron's almost-catch, like Rowand's off Beltran in the Saturday Philly game, didn't make sense. This kind of season, those home runs are robbed.

So maybe it isn't "this kind of season" after all.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 09:58 PM

There're no other lefties in the pen, just in case we get Delgado, Green, and/or Valentin back up with a chance to do damage.

G-Fafif
Jul 18 2007 09:59 PM

Maddux didn't even make it the fifth the last time he faced the Mets, Game Three of the NLDS.

Immaterial, but I'm making myself feel better.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 10:03 PM

Suddenly, Linebrink turns into Steve Blass

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 18 2007 10:04 PM

Batty31
Jul 18 2007 10:05 PM

HOLY CRAP...Wright goes kaboom!

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 10:06 PM

Wright's biggest swing of the season!

Oh, and I'm calling bullshit on Darling's Sisk story.

DocTee
Jul 18 2007 10:07 PM

I think the seven-pitch leadoff AB by Gotay was huge--

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 18 2007 10:07 PM

Yeah, it was actually Heath "Bar" Bell.

Come on, let's bring the irrational hate.

Madduxes early exit looks really stupid now.

Gwreck
Jul 18 2007 10:08 PM

They've already burned Ring, Bell, Meredith and Linebrink.

We used Schoeneweis.

Advantange = us.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 10:12 PM

Don't like Greene.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 18 2007 10:19 PM

Come on Joe

Edgy DC

"Hell's Bells," my ass.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 18 2007 10:28 PM

We suck again.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 10:35 PM

Lastings Milledge is the answer.

Who, oh who, can go Oh-for-San Diego? That's the question.

metsguyinmichigan
Jul 18 2007 10:54 PM

Absolutely horrible. To fight back like that and piss it away is just terrible.

And my fear is that Omar will be frightened into making a dumb trade for someone like Jermaine Dye.

Edgy DC
Jul 18 2007 11:35 PM

I think we have about 12 days to see if Alou is alive.

Why so...it did sound too funny to be true...I should give some context here,Darling was talking about what Schoeneweis is going through at Shea, getting booed a lot ,plus the high ERA....he called it the Sisk effect...

then he told the Sisk story...

cleonjones11
Jul 19 2007 07:56 PM

Can we sign Doug Sisk and designate Schoenweiss for assignment?

DocTee
Jul 19 2007 08:11 PM

Blowenweiss has been rather efective of late--see thread on "last thirty."

Edgy DC
Jul 19 2007 08:13 PM

cleon's lack of productivity is more than made up for by his clubhouse leadership.
