how do i fix my avatar?

Dear Abby, I finally find a decent avatar and its too wide. due to my technological incompetence, i have no idea how to fix it. please help. sincerely, Vic in Hub City

what happened? when i went to put the link into the "upload url" box on my profile page, it came back with: "Unable to upload file DEBUG MODE Line : 251 File : usercp_avatar.php" did you fix it?
