Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 08:48 PM

Wriight drives in Anderson who reached on a Juan Pierre error. One-zip.

i kept waiting figuring someone with something to say other than the lineups would startan IGT, then the game started so i figured i'd go ahead. 10:40 starts are unfaur to east coast fans even on a friday night, 10:10 is late enough, why couldnt they start then?

Gary Cohen said it's because of LA traffic. I don't know if he was kidding.

And how great is it that EI has the SNY feed tonight!

Tomko has been awful this season--

Loney and Kemp have been lights out.

Back from seeing Neko Case in Central Park to see Nomar Garciaparra homer to center field.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 09:17 PM

OK, who woke up Nomar's power stroke?

Rockin' Doc
Jul 20 2007 09:22 PM

I liked Nomar better as a Red Sock.

Unfortunately, Nymr's power stroke hasn't been seen in years.

Jul 20 2007 09:28 PM

Valentin's 2 out single last inning did serve to clear the pitcher's spot in the order so the top of the order will start the third inning.

Let's get the lead back right here.

Rockin' Doc
Jul 20 2007 09:33 PM

Tomko wanted no part of Wright in that at bat. Make him pay Delgado.

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 09:34 PM

Delgado strikes out on 3 pitches stranding 2 runners. its 1-1 and i'm getting sleepy.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 09:44 PM

Can we just ban these black' duds between innings?

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 09:47 PM

i'm on radio, what are u talking about?

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 09:49 PM

Black uniforms stink is what I'm talking about.

Bad news happening for Valentin fans.

Frayed Knot
Jul 20 2007 09:49 PM

That Valentin foul ball high off the shin looked like the same type that broke
Jermaine Dye's leg in the playoffs back about 5 years ago.

DocTee
Jul 20 2007 09:51 PM

Gotay in for JVal

martin
Jul 20 2007 09:51 PM

i know people hate to hear "addition by subtraction", but i don't mind if valentin takes the rest of the year off to heal.

I do.
I mean even if we decide (after what, a few dozen ABs?) that Gotay is the real deal, it's not like bench players with Valentin's ability to switch-hit w/enough power to scare the opposing bench grow on trees.

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 09:59 PM

yeah, starting or not Valentin is valuable to this team

martin
Jul 20 2007 10:00 PM

i might have agreed with that before milledge and anderson arrived, or if valentin hadnt been having such a bad year. his 2007 OPS is .668. last year it was .820.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 10:09 PM

Anderson's is .582. Milledge's is .423!

A player getting hurt is bad no matter how you look at it.

DocTee
Jul 20 2007 10:11 PM

With JVal hurt and Easley out, who backs up the Goat?

martin
Jul 20 2007 10:14 PM

i am gonna claim a small sample size bias on both those dudes. plus anderson is a proven pinch hitter. and easley and gotay have things covered at 2b.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 10:14 PM

For the rest of the night, Marlon.

metirish
Jul 20 2007 10:14 PM

Anderson played a lot of second.

move Anderson to 2B -- although a Gotay/Anderson combo won't exactly give the greatest defense in the world.

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 10:18 PM

radio reporting fractured right tibia in the leg for valentin.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 10:20 PM

Bad news on Valentin.

cleonjones11
Jul 20 2007 10:20 PM

Gotay can handle the load. K.C never should have given up on him....Andy Tracy?

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 10:23 PM

who gets the call from AAA? Tracy? Ledee? Johnson? maybe Tatis?

Easley off the bereavement list most likely.
Maybe somebody else if he still needs a few more days but it can only run for another 3 or 4 days max.

Not to mention that Alou may be ready by Tuesday

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 10:29 PM

good timing for roster reasons i guess...and now we can stop worrying that Valentin's '08 option will kick in.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 10:32 PM

They can bring up anyone they want, plus they have Easley and Alou about to be activated. Nothing to worry about unless you are Cleon.

I can't see why anyone would be worried that his option would kick in. If it vested, it would be because he played well enough and stayed healthy enough to deserve it.

Edgy DC
Jul 20 2007 10:36 PM

For a guy without much range, Gotay gets down the line.

metirish
Jul 20 2007 10:38 PM

Perez gets picked of trying to steal second,to end the inning no less.

DocTee
Jul 20 2007 10:40 PM

Please no more Anderson Hernandez. ever.

Jul 20 2007 10:44 PM

Beimel tortures lefties-- absolutely owned Bonds this past weekend.

DocTee
Jul 20 2007 10:46 PM

Something like half of all Dodger IP since the AS Break have been thrown by their bullpen-- this is looking good.

Selig has ordered him traded to the San Fran opponent every series, offered to pay air-fare and living expenses in every city.

Gary just mentioned 35 by the starters and 31 for the pen.

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 10:51 PM

hahaha Reyes scores on a bad throw to first, Anderson was just trying to bunt him over.
Anderson reaches on the error

Beltran smacks the first pitch!

4-1 Mets!

Jul 20 2007 10:52 PM

Just crazy how a game can change...

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 10:58 PM

2:20 so far and its bottom 8...could have been alot worse with such a late start.

Nymr83
Jul 20 2007 11:01 PM

great night for Perez, now lets hang on and get him the W

Nymr83

Thanks Edgy..starting to open a little room on the division..cool beans...

A late game-breaking homer by Beltran and Wagner nails it down. I'd've liked to have seen that.

Crashed in the 2nd inning last night: Cat woke me up in the bottom of the 8th.
