The return of Moises. Hopefully he will help lead the Mets to the promised land.

I kinda wrote him off in my mind, it's gonna take a good game or two for
me acknowledge his presence lol ...

It's going to take me at least that long to remember what he looks like.

Who are they sending down to make room for Alou?

I haven't had any luck finding who went to make room for Alou. I guess one our members lucky enough to actually be able to see the game will have to fill us in on the roster moves involved.

I would think that this would earn Anderson Hernandez a return ticket to New Orleans. Ruben Gotay and Damion Easley should be able to handle second base. In an emergency, Marlon Anderson could probably fill in. Of course, Willie may want to keep AH around as a defensive sub which would likely cost Sandy Alomar, Jr. his spot as catcher #3. LoDuca and Castro can adequately handle the catching duties. I guess it depends upon whether Willie would rather keep either Gotay/Easley for a bat on the bench or have Catro/LoDuca more available to pich hit.

Alomar.

Shoulda been So-so.

Yikes. Sosa sure is sucking tonight.

On the bright side, the Nats pitcher is one of our old castoffs from the dark days, I think.

Alou is back, leadoff double!

Rockin' Doc
Jul 27 2007 05:48 PM

LoDuca needs to continue his recent resurgence here.

Rockin' Doc
Jul 27 2007 05:49 PM

Mets on the corners with no outs. Come on Milledge, keep it going.

Nymr83
Jul 27 2007 05:50 PM

crap. i dont like the run for the double play there, i wanted the big inning against a bad pitcher.

Rockin' Doc
Jul 27 2007 05:52 PM

That wasn't quite what I had in mind. That inning fizzled out pretty quickly.

Rockin' Doc
Jul 27 2007 05:56 PM

Sosa is getting better. Zimmerman's hit didn't go for extra bases.

Rockin' Doc
Jul 27 2007 05:58 PM

The Nationals extended batting practice continues as Ryan Church homers to right.

iramets
Jul 27 2007 06:32 PM

Sosa's batting in the fifth!

And gets a hit!!

Nymr83
Jul 27 2007 06:33 PM

holy shit, green almost got doubled off of 3rd on a RIPPED liner that Zimmerman pulled out of the air

Nymr83
Jul 27 2007 06:33 PM

Easley brings Green home, it 4-2 with 2 on for David Wright

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 27 2007 06:41 PM

I'll bet this is So-so's last start for awhile, at least for the Mets -- may as well wear him out.

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 06:45 PM

I was thinking the same thing with a noon start tomorrow and day/night thing, keep
it within the three runs it is now and hope for the offense to spurt before it's over.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 27 2007 06:58 PM

Jon Adkins joins the scrolls.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 27 2007 07:05 PM

Milledge ticks the ball off the side of his bat and gets a single. Green and Gotay crush it and account for outs 1 and 2.

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:08 PM

Is it me or did the Mets just make three outs trying to hit four-run homers
each time with a guy on first?

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 27 2007 07:23 PM

We could use a pretty severe comeback here.

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:26 PM

I think I spotted SJRogers a few rows off the visitors dugout towards the end
of the last inning ... someone text him and tell him to put his cap on inside
out and get some rally cap action going already!!!

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:27 PM

Easley: bifl

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:41 PM

Four run bottom half of the ninth? Too much to ask? I think not.

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:43 PM

Alou says fuck you Carsey, I'm first pitch swingin' and poppin' out to short.

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:44 PM

Lo Duca didn't get the memo.

Kid Carsey
Jul 27 2007 07:46 PM

Lastings K's.

Ug of a game.

Johnny Dickshot
Jul 27 2007 07:46 PM

Embarrassing.

This might turn out to be a devastating weekend for the Mets.

Gwreck

Horrible.
Yes, it was Merengue Night.

Sosa hitting in the 5th for himself? With a runner on and nobody out? Terrible. He was 80+ pitches in. The fact that he got a hit doesn't make the strategic decision any less frustrating.

Gotay PHing against a lefty was curious as well (granted, the other choices were Castro, Anderson Hernandez and Marlon Anderson).

Brian Lawrence is 8-2, 3.87 for the Zephyrs, he pitched yesterday. I'm betting he gets Sosa's spot in the rotation.

DocTee

Lawrence would be a welcome addition at this point.
