the skies in Staten Island do not look baseball-friendly and I'm hearing thunder... are we getting this one in?

another ex-met in Billy Traber today

I felt the lightnin'
And waited on the thunder
WAITED ON THE THUNDER!

We got a lead now let's go into speed mode. Raining already here.

Let's keep THE THUNDER at bay for a few hours.

We get caught stealing as a team WAY too much.

In both Milledge's head-first slide yesterday and the one today (both CS) he's starting his
dive way too early and therefore skidding to a crawl by the time his hands each the base.
Wouldn't have mattered yesterday, definitely would have today.

Since Rickey took over at first, it seems like the Mets are caught more than they're successful.

Alou approaches his ABs as if he's double parked.

Raining already in the bottom of the second.

pre-asg, 83% success
post-asg, 71% success

Reyes leads off the bottom of the third with his second double.

Still over 80% successful (123 of 153) ... but it does seem like those CSs have been
rising lately.
Plus pickoffs should really be considered too, but I never see a tally of those.

OK, now it's 124 of 154.
on edit: make that 125 of 155

Reyes will seriously hurt himself one day with that freakin' slide of his,
steals third and then scores on Wright single.

Castro smahes one to straight centerfield... can we just start him already?

The Nationals better be playing the Vince Guaraldi tune when Schroeder takes the mound.

The Padres beat the Astros 18-11 today, wow. How about Tim Stauffer, getting staked to an 11-0 lead before he throws a pitch and then not getting the W.
