I had forgotten them until I got an e-mail a month or so ago from someone saying they should be listed among the Mets affiliates.

The Mets were reasonably active in promoting this Blue Jay hybrid/Cyclone placeholder, sending Bobby Valentine and Benny Agbayani to St. John's to conduct clinics, for example. They also fixed up the school's baseball field to make it somewhat professional. I never attended a game but I did see fit to order a t-shirt, immortalized here in commemoration of a night when the other Queens team became kings: http://faithandfear.blogharbor.com/blog/Photos/_archives/2006/9/18/2339160.html Like Lakers' and Vikings' and Rockies' uniforms, the purple photographs as blue.
