Delgado is a legitimate candidate for Schaefer Mets Player of the Month for July.

Yeah, but we're slow to give up our whipping boys.

Green .232 / .263 / .347 // .579 in 95 at-bats.

Lo Duca .183 / .218 / .317 // .535 in 82 at-bats.

I'm also encouraged to note that at long last, David Wright is hitting .300 again.

I'm discouraged at how shitty Reyes looks. The numbers might be good, but he's not. Nothing in the gaps anymore, everything in the air.

his OBP is still pretty good. if he can maintain a high 3 obp, i won't mind, even if he is popping up more than he should.
he's a guy that can make singles into doubles and triples, so all he needs to do is get on base.
speaking of... he's on pace to steal 80 right now. the way the rest of the mets offense is sucking, he should pick up the pace and try for 3 digits.

I think he has been picking up the pace and it's led only to more CS's and more owies.

Also, when Gotay is batting second, he doesn't give a shit if Reyes is running. He swings at what he likes.

Reyes's SBs are up, at least in part, because his power is down.
More singles and fewer 2Bs, 3Bs & HRs give him more opportunities.
Given the choice I'd prefer the pop to the run & gun.

Plus, between his caught stealings (13) and the pick-offs (at least 5)
those steals aren't adding a whole lot to run creation anyway.
