wow--I root for the Mets ahead of my fantasy team everytime, but that Ramirez RBI just gave me that catogory (was tied 32-32) and Soriano isnt in to answer back. Yay for me :).
But the Cubs score and Glavine's up to 97 pitches.
Does he stay in? They have some breathing room to play with here.
WOW--Kerry Wood in to pitch for Cubs.

Maybe they should move Lastings up in the order again.

Glavine strikes out Floyd with the seldom used curve to get out of the 6th.
Mets lead 5-1 and Glavine's 300th victory will again be in the hands of the bullpen.

I wouldnt mind seeing that at all. And im a fan of aggressive baseball. But a red lights a red light.lol
Lastings with his 3rd hit :). And Tommy stays in:)
I bet if one more Cub reaches at anytime from here on out he gets the hook. And thats if they dont pull him anyway, and were just saving a pinch hitter there. Nice bunt moves Milledge over

Gwreck Aug 05 2007 08:20 PM

I would've pinch hit for Glavine (with Gotay? Anderson? We have good lefty options on the bench). This will bug me more, especially if -- as projected above -- he gets pulled if a single Cub reaches base next inning.

I say let Glav continue until he hits a bump of any kind, but I bet he's dun for the night.

With the bottom of the order up, an extra day of rest before his next start, and a 4 run lead, I thought Willie gave him too quick of a hook. His pitch count was only 102 at that point, too.

Dont see how we can burn em out when two throw 3 pitches and one throws 7.
But Heilman will probly get the 8th, and he better do the do. Tho Sosa is up...hmmm.

I was thinking only in tterms of this game.
Delgado drives in Castro with a double off the ivy in RCF. 6-3 Mets and still no outs with runners at second and third.

Ha. I was thinking in terms of reverse and that would make WOW still WOW. But none of those words will suffice if the Mets dont win this game.
BIG HUGE GIANT double by Delgado and the Mets get one right back.
If Wright followed up on Castillos steal we have had 2. Ill take one at a time tho. More please....

This is where you'd want a decent RH hitter to go up for Green vs a LHP and then stay in for defense. That's what Ben Johnson was hoped to become, or maybe Chip Ambres. Or even Milledge if Beltran was starting.

Alfonso Soriano is expected to miss a minimum of two weeks and possibbly as much as a month due to the right quadriceps strain he suffered last night while attempting to go from first to third on a Ryan Theriot single. That's a tough break for the Cubs and a major blow to their offense.
