Lets get to Smoltz!!!!

Centerfield
Aug 08 2007 04:08 PM

I agree with cleon. Let's win this fucking game.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 04:10 PM

Giving Smoltz an early see-ya would go a long way to erasing last
night's game. Another hour ... ug

Edgy DC
Aug 08 2007 05:01 PM

We have five .300 hitters in our lineup. How about that?

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 05:32 PM

Dukie just made Texiera look foolish.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 05:35 PM

Great catch Hayes, don't ever fuckin do it again.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 05:44 PM

3 hard hit balls to start the second. A fly out to the track and two line drive base hits.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 05:51 PM

Reyes throws hard.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 05:54 PM

Don't even think it.

Benjamin Grimm
Aug 08 2007 06:13 PM

No-hitter through four.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:17 PM

1 run through four, gonna take more than that despite OHern's thingy.

Yah, what we post here has a direct affect on the goings on in Flushing.

Don't be a sourpuss.

Elster88

I think it's effect.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:25 PM

Sweet DP action, still 1-sniffle ...

metsguyinmichigan
Aug 08 2007 06:26 PM

Nice DP!

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:30 PM

One of my old time faves ....

E88:>>>I think it's effect<<<

When I look into your big brown eyes
And I feel like I'm in paradise
I want you by my side
'Cause I'm affected, 'fected
Yeah, I'm affected, 'fected
Well I'm affected
And all I want is you

Didn't know it a few years ago
But now I finally know
I want you by my side
I want you baby, baby, baby, baby

Yeah, I love you and I want you to know
Yeah, yeah, and that's for sure
I want you by my side
'Cause I'm affected, 'fected
Yeah, I'm affected, 'fected
Well, I'm affected
And all I want is you

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 06:31 PM

Just trying to fit in with the elitists.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:33 PM

Gotta get Ramones' lyrics in from time to time, it's an edict from way back ...

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 06:34 PM

Is Reyes getting thrown out more than he used to?

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:35 PM

Seems so. That freakin' slide of his makes my heart stop sometimes.

Nymr83
Aug 08 2007 06:46 PM

apparently chipper still owns the Mets. 2-1 bad guys

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 06:48 PM

I have zero faith that we'll come back.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:50 PM

Weird double by Larry, it was basically a base hit to center but Lastings
was positioned well to left center. Scoring from first there looked bad.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 06:55 PM

Smoltz owns David with that slider.

Frayed Knot
Aug 08 2007 06:55 PM

Well, we should have had more runs all along.

Two seperate innings started with a lead-off Reyes single [u:ba7d8cff9f]AND[/u:ba7d8cff9f] a SB (one steal, one a pick-off error).
Then there were THREE productive outs mixed in (one bunt, one Sac Fly, one groundout) but a total of only 1 run was scored.

Showing once again, in my mind, that so-called productive outs are nearly as important in run building as many seem to think. They rarely do squat unless you also get hits to go along and if you do that then you don't need to move-up outs.

Yeah, typing too fast cuz pissed off.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 06:57 PM

I'm calling a swing and a miss and a groundout on the second pitch by Alou.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 06:59 PM

I'm calling dinger on a 2-1 count ...

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 07:00 PM

I'm calling an F7.

Frayed Knot
Aug 08 2007 07:02 PM

I'm calling a line-out to a LFer who had no business playing that deep.

That's one thing about the Braves I could never figure out -- that they always seem to have the fielders in the exact correct spot. I mean I realize there's some scouting info to all that, but balls still get hit all over the place with some randomness to it all and they still seem to be right at them all the time.

Kid Carsey
Aug 08 2007 07:09 PM

I'm calling another Mets game where we head into the late innings and
haven't scored jack squat.

Nymr83
Aug 08 2007 07:18 PM

Easley walks to load the bases... come on Reyes!!!

Frayed Knot
Aug 08 2007 07:19 PM

I Mahay have to celebrate if Reyes gets a hit here.

your bad pun prevented a run from scoring.

Castillo breaks a bat, drives in two. Just like we said.

No, it was just premature.

I've suffered from premature punning most of my adult life.

Nymr83
Aug 08 2007 07:24 PM

Green scores, Milledge scores, Castillo has 2 RBI! (this is the guy who probably set a record back in 2000 when he had 626 plate appearences and drove in only 17)

metsguyinmichigan
Aug 08 2007 07:24 PM

FINALLY! Luis Castillo might just fit in here!

metsguyinmichigan
Aug 08 2007 07:30 PM

Darn it, Wright!

Kid Carsey

Well, most of them.

metsguyinmichigan

He has a lot of easy ones this year. Nice to get the W even if he did nearly kill me.

Elster88
Aug 08 2007 08:14 PM

Great defense by the Mets today. Off the top of my head two plays: Milledge crashing into the fence (huge) and Reyes going deep into the hole. Am I missing anything?
