I had thought El Duque would've made sense with the day off. but, apparently, willie said they're calling someone up?

Can't be Pelfrey...
so is it:
humber? (scratched from starts b/c of food poisoning or possible trades?)
Vargas? (rest days match up, but only went 3+ innings on saturday)
Lawrence? (8-2 with Zephyrs)

I'm personlaly a fan of Brian Lawrence. He's always been really steady until his injury. eats up innings. consistent 4ish era. gives your team a chance to win almost every time out there. great #5 to have in the rotation imo.

I think Friar Lawrence is our guy.

He's a Trachsel for a new generation.

I woulda moved up Hernandez and Maine and had Sosa go Saturday.

I'm thinking, just crazy here, that our failure to turn Humber into a reliever at the trade deadline inspires a desire to turn Humber into a reliever, period.

I mean, throw him in the Met bullpen for a while.

Just a question for clarification. How does one pronounce Humber? Do you pronounce the "b" or does it sound like Hummer?

Pronunce the B but not the H.

Umber

"Awrance ... Awrance"

Willie confirms that he'll be called up to start Thursday's game.

Sosa in the pen for now.
