Invitation to a party and Mets Fan availability update

I want to invite all of the folks at Crane Pool Forum to my book launch party at Mo Pitkin's on Avenue A in the East Village. Please save the date: Sunday, September 23 from 4-7. If you think you might want to come to the party, please join my mailing list at my website: http://www.metsfanbook.com
Everyone on the mailing list will receive an official invitation in a couple of weeks. If you e-mail me back that you are certain that you will attend, I will e-mail you with an ticket to get into the party (it's free of course). I have to do it this way because there is a limitation on the size of the party for obvious food and fire reasons.

Mets Fan is selling so well that it is in its third printing at the end of its second week. But this has caused significant availability problems with the distributors. As of this morning, the most significant of these problems has been solved. Amazon and Barnes and Noble now have the books in stock and available for immediate free shipping.

Please go to http://www.metsfanbook.com for ordering links and information. There will also be info in a couple of weeks about brick-and-mortar bookstores stocking the book.

I hope to meet many of you at the party. Thank you!

I am sorry to report that although Mets Fan finally became available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble on Friday morning, they sold out the whole shipment at both places by Saturday morning. Even resellers sold out copies they were selling for $10 more than the list price. While I am happy of course that the book is selling so well, I am very frustrated about the continuing availability problem, just when I thought it was solved.

The best way to get a copy right away is to order directly from the publisher:

Or, if you want the free shipping, order from Amazon, BN, or BaltimoreChop.com and you'll get your copy as soon as they restock. You can find links to these at my site: http://www.metsfanbook.com

Please visit the site for updates about availability.

I don't mean to violate any rules about being commercial. I was posting this info because someone else had posted on this site a notice about the publication of the book. As Greg's review indicates, Mets Fan is likely to be of interest to many of the people who read this forum. I will, of course, be careful not to do this again, if I'm violating anything. I understand of course why forums need to be careful to discourage commercial spam. And I did want to explain the problems about availability because several readers of Mets forums have written to me about them. I'm afraid it will be awhile before you can actually get the book on E-Bay. I'm just happy that now you can finally get it on Amazon.

You're not violating anything. Cleon is just a grump. Pay not attention to him.

Okay, well, this is just to let people know that the availability problems have been solved and the book is now available for free and immediate shipping from Amazon and BN. Just go to my site for the links:

Also, I'm being interviewed by Matt Cerrone of MetsBlog and Anthony De Rosa of Hotfoot at 6:30pm on 8/22. You can hear the interview at this link, even after it's over:
