There was a Flash Gordon show in the early ninties that was a family favorite when my son was little. He was Flash (ah-a!) for Halloween one year.

I, for one, think it's going to be good. I'm Tivo-ing it. I've been looking forward to this show for months.

Actually, it turned out to be better than I thought it would be.
Not too bad.

First a Stephen King book, now a TV show.

="Valadius"]I just watched it. WOW. This looks really really good!!!

A tad too much Stargate-ish for me.
I miss those old cheesey rockets from the old Buster Crabbe serial films.
And there will never be a villian as menacingly evil as Charles Middleton as Ming the Merciless.
But that's quibbling.
I liked it overall, too.

I think my generation - the generation that hasn't seen or associated Flash Gordon with the 1980 film or prior incarnations - is really going to like this version.

It was godawful. I couldn't stand more than ten minutes of it.

First of all, you have Flash winning a marathon and not even being out of breath or working up a sweat. Then you have him meeting with Dale. They are supposed to be in their 20s, but they act as though it was the first day of middle school with the girl you really liked. The dialog was painful to listen to.

Others who stuck it out longer told me it became a game of "Name That TV Stereotype."

Forget the fact this is a change from the original: that isn't the issue. This was just a bunch of cliches and cardboard characters strung together. It was beyond bad.
