Anderson back from the bereavement list and the wrist he hurt in his final game prior to going away is OK. Also Castro is available, but not starting. Got a cortisone shot and is "a little stiff", but won't be DL'd and could catch if needed. IOW, like the rest of us, he's "Day to Day". In the meantime it'll be DiFelice until further notice.

Gotay is the emergency catcher now, I think. He is frequently warming up pitchers between innings.

Delgado used to be a catcher. IIRC he may have some innings behind the plate in the bigs. Later

He came up as a catcher but only played once or twice there in Toronto. He's also made it clear that, "that ain't happening". Willie said yesterday that they put Castro through some drills to see if he needed to be DL'd. They obviously decided against it and said he was usuable last night and could very well start on Thursday.

They apparently bought Sandy Jr. a plane ticket to Pittsburgh, but didn;t use it. In barely related news, Mets by the Numbers is reporting that Mike DiFelice has become the first Met ever added to the 40-man roster five different times.
