No 'Hamels Time'

At least not for a couple of weeks.

Phils placed star LHP Cole Hamels on the DL today with elbow problems, knocking him out of next week's Mets/Phils series for sure and maybe longer.

Braves also got bit ('tho less hard) by putting LHP Chuck James on the DL.
Replacement Jo-Jo Reyes pitched in his place last night and was greeted by a run barrage in Cincy.

The baseball world sweats Hamels a lot for a dude with a career 3.75 ERA.

If this is what a 3.75 ERA looks like, I'd sweat too:

the strikeout per inning career looks pretty nice though and right now he's leading the league in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 4:1 which is disgustingly good.

Atlanta SS Edgar Renteria came off the DL today ... and then was pulled in the 1st inning of tonight's game after injuring his ankle.
