Aaron Harang is a surprising 14-3, 3.51 ERA, 1.23 WHiP

Keith - " the sweep in Atlanta is not possible without Pedro being in the clubhouse"...that's a lot of pressure.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 03 2007 11:10 AM |
When it comes to Mike Wallace, the story ends with me puttin him in the wall.

Love that commercial.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:19 AM |
Nice bunt Castillo but do you have to turn your head over your shoulder to watch it for half the trip down the line?
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:20 AM |
Jeff Keppinger with the highest BA sincd the ASB at .367. Wright at .366.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:21 AM |
Wright looks sexy with eye black.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 03 2007 11:23 AM |
I'd prefer to see Pedro bat before he pitches.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:27 AM |
SNY not going to commercial after the first half. Well done.
Gwreck Sep 03 2007 11:28 AM |
Gary's pun? Boooooo.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:29 AM |
Swinging bunt for Hamilton. Pedro looked annoyed.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:33 AM |
Alou shoulda caught that ball. Admittedly a screamer.
metirish Sep 03 2007 11:34 AM |
Pedro getting hit hard,2 zip Reds...Phillips steals second....
metirish Sep 03 2007 11:38 AM |
All things considered two runs is not bad, could have been worse and really could have been one run.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:46 AM |
Harang's a big sunoffagun huh.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 11:48 AM |
Seriously maybe none. The swinging bunt was a swinging bunt and the second ball shoulda been caught. But it was stung.
A Boy Named Seo Sep 03 2007 11:48 AM |

Pedro gets 3000 Ks. Wave to the crowd (guess they put it on the scoreboard).

3-2 Mets on the Wright-bomb to the opposite field!
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:00 PM |
I love D Wright...I'm not afraid to say it.
Nymr83 Sep 03 2007 12:01 PM |
oh and umm... M-V-P? i was discussing it last night with a friend... he's 10th in the league or so in OPS, 6th in OBP... nobody higher than him will currently make the playoffs (and we know that matters to the voters, even if it shouldn't)
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:06 PM |
He's in a good position. Little feels better than when Wright is going the other way.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:12 PM |
Good job busting it down the line by Green.
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:12 PM |
Aaron Harang-a-tang looks very hittable. He's had a good season and I was expecting more from him.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:13 PM |
See?
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:14 PM |
Yup. The Reds announcers are geniuses.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 12:15 PM |
Do you think he looks good in eye-black?
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:19 PM |
I do.

Me too!

Just caught this. I'm down with being the New York Pedros for today.
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:22 PM |
E8 that scores a run. Don't see that very often with Beltran. Damn.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:23 PM |
That wasn't Beltran's fault. Pedro's vaseline was still on the ball.
OlerudOwned Sep 03 2007 12:23 PM |
That got weird.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:26 PM |
That's 58 pitches for Pedro.
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 12:30 PM |

Do we count the 4 for the IBB?
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:34 PM |
It's unearned according to Gameday.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:35 PM |
OK, Gameday changed their minds.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:44 PM |
Brother just hit 90.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:46 PM |
Brother just closed out the fifth.
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 12:46 PM |
Not a bad outing by Pedro at all...frankly, better than I expected.

The Reds showing that fundamental baseball.

Does Thom Brennaman get paid by the word?
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 12:59 PM |
I don't know, but it's better announcing than I've been used to after Philly and Atlanta.
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 01:00 PM |
Better than those two crews? Yes, but still horrid.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 03 2007 01:01 PM |
The Goat
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 01:10 PM |

OK, then I'll also say it's better than the St. Louis and Arizona crews also. It's nice to get the impression that, you know, nobody's drunk.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 01:12 PM |
Javier Valentin kind of looks like Rose, build-wise.

Boy, the standards for MLB announcing are low! Yes, these clowns are better than the Cardinals announcers, too. I don't remember AZ. I thought SD was OK.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 01:23 PM |
Viva Coutlangus!
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 01:23 PM |
Col. Angus?
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 01:24 PM |
Wow--Marcus McBeth. That's a good name!
OlerudOwned Sep 03 2007 01:38 PM |
We really licked Coutlangus.
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 01:40 PM |
AHHHH! Phillies losing (even though that means the Braves are winning); Seattle thumping Clemens and the MFY.
Iubitul Sep 03 2007 01:48 PM |
Me too. And judging by the broadcast, Keith has a serious case of man-love regarding Mr. Wright.
Frayed Knot Sep 03 2007 01:52 PM |
See what happens when you put the ball on the ground Jose?
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 01:53 PM |
And that was running from the right side, with a pretty good shortstop making the play.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 01:55 PM |
Is Castillo allowed to hit it that far?
OlerudOwned Sep 03 2007 01:58 PM |
Keith Hernandez and Kurt Vonnegut being neighbors. Wow.
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 01:58 PM |
The Reds telecast hasn't shown the Mets pen. I hope that Humber or Collazzo starts the 8th.
Zvon Sep 03 2007 02:00 PM |
Atlanta has beat Philidelpha, 5-1.
Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 02:01 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Sep 03 2007 02:01 PM |
Good point. How about letting Conine play an inning or so at third for the Pedros also?
Nymr83 Sep 03 2007 02:01 PM |
Mota in the 8th. I'd rather give someone news a chance with this score
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 02:02 PM |
That's a good point Edgy as I suspect that Conine will start at third someday soon (perhaps Wednesday) to finally give Wright a day off.
A Boy Named Seo Sep 03 2007 02:05 PM |
How'd that come up?
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 02:06 PM |
The Reds announcers are talking High School football.
metirish Sep 03 2007 02:09 PM |

Keith was talking about the Mets answering the bell and then Gary started using different metaphors so Keith said they need Vonnegut in the booth, mentioned that they were neighbors and used to meet all the time. Did Keith call the yankees "the stankees' then said he was joking?

Edgy DC Sep 03 2007 02:09 PM |

The fortunes of Moeller High School I bet. Or maybe how Masillon did in their opening game. Meanwhile, our guys are discussing why his recent death makes it impractical to invite Kurt Vonnegut up to the booth.
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 02:13 PM |
Masillon HS was indeed discussed. Also, an in depth discussion of the latest September call-ups.
bmfc1 Sep 03 2007 02:14 PM |
How about getting a 3d catcher up so PLD can take an inning off?
Zvon Sep 03 2007 02:34 PM |
Mets swept by Phils:
Elster88 Sep 03 2007 03:52 PM |
That didn't really work.
TransMonk Sep 03 2007 05:30 PM |
This game wasn't the first time that the SNY booth talked about Kurt Vonnegut and his being Keith's neighbor...and I doubt that this was the first time that the Reds announcers were talking about HS football while the Reds were playing a game in September.
