IGT, 9/3, Pedros vs. Reds

Starting early to secure the guarantee of the MOST ANTI-CLIMACTIC GAME OF THE YEAR!

But, you know, maybe not.

Aaron Harang is a surprising 14-3, 3.51 ERA, 1.23 WHiP

Pedro's very first Met game also came in Cincinnati.

And, although he struck out 12 in 6 innings, that one didn't start particularly well (Adam Dunn 3R HR in the 1st) and didn't end particularly well either (Dunn & Randa HRs).

Or, as origninaljb would say ... Looper!

Keith - " the sweep in Atlanta is not possible without Pedro being in the clubhouse"...that's a lot of pressure.

When it comes to Mike Wallace, the story ends with me puttin him in the wall.

Nice bunt Castillo but do you have to turn your head over your shoulder to watch it for half the trip down the line?

Elster88
Sep 03 2007 11:20 AM

Jeff Keppinger with the highest BA sincd the ASB at .367. Wright at .366.

Elster88
Sep 03 2007 11:21 AM

Wright looks sexy with eye black.

Johnny Dickshot

I'd prefer to see Pedro bat before he pitches.

Elster88
Sep 03 2007 11:27 AM

SNY not going to commercial after the first half. Well done.

Gwreck
Sep 03 2007 11:28 AM

Gary's pun? Boooooo.

For those without SNY, he said "it's the third of September, a day that Pedro will always remember."

Elster88
Sep 03 2007 11:29 AM

Swinging bunt for Hamilton. Pedro looked annoyed.

Elster88
Sep 03 2007 11:33 AM

Alou shoulda caught that ball. Admittedly a screamer.

Seriously maybe none. The swinging bunt was a swinging bunt and the second ball shoulda been caught. But it was stung.

Nymr83
Sep 03 2007 12:01 PM

oh and umm... M-V-P? i was discussing it last night with a friend... he's 10th in the league or so in OPS, 6th in OBP... nobody higher than him will currently make the playoffs (and we know that matters to the voters, even if it shouldn't)

Edgy DC
Sep 03 2007 12:06 PM

He's in a good position. Little feels better than when Wright is going the other way.

Edgy DC
Sep 03 2007 12:12 PM

Good job busting it down the line by Green.

A runner on second with Green and LoDuca coming up, say the announcers, is a pretty good promise of a run.

TransMonk

Aaron Harang-a-tang looks very hittable. He's had a good season and I was expecting more from him.

E8 that scores a run. Don't see that very often with Beltran. Damn.

Edgy DC

That wasn't Beltran's fault. Pedro's vaseline was still on the ball.

Boy, the standards for MLB announcing are low! Yes, these clowns are better than the Cardinals announcers, too. I don't remember AZ. I thought SD was OK.

That's a good point Edgy as I suspect that Conine will start at third someday soon (perhaps Wednesday) to finally give Wright a day off.

Keith was talking about the Mets answering the bell and then Gary started using different metaphors so Keith said they need Vonnegut in the booth, mentioned that they were neighbors and used to meet all the time.

Did Keith call the yankees "the stankees' then said he was joking?

Mets innings at third in 2007:

David Wright: 1204
Julio Franco: 18

The fortunes of Moeller High School I bet. Or maybe how Masillon did in their opening game.

Meanwhile, our guys are discussing why his recent death makes it impractical to invite Kurt Vonnegut up to the booth.

Masillon HS was indeed discussed. Also, an in depth discussion of the latest September call-ups.

How about getting a 3d catcher up so PLD can take an inning off?

The Zephyrs made the playoffs. Mulvey got promoted to AAA and pitched great:

This game wasn't the first time that the SNY booth talked about Kurt Vonnegut and his being Keith's neighbor...and I doubt that this was the first time that the Reds announcers were talking about HS football while the Reds were playing a game in September.
