John Delcos is "chatting" from the press box and said that Sandy Alomar, Jr. is back so the Mets finally have a 3d catcher.

Sep 04 2007 06:35 PM

Ollie's too clever by half. F'ed around with Griffey and lost him 0-2 to a walk, leading to a 2-run rally.

Now we screw up strike 3 on the next leadoff batter.

Johnny Dickshot
Sep 04 2007 06:37 PM

Fuck, now he's lost a 3-run lead on a double by Jeff F. Keppinger.

DOOKIE!!!!!!

Lo Duca fucked up the inning.

Sep 04 2007 06:47 PM

Perez has walked 3 straight batters, maybe we can send him down to the minors for 4 or 5 years and he'll come back smacking bombs like Rick Ankiel.

That was funny... Keith said he "just missed that one" right after it left the bat.

Mmmmm. Soft underbelly.

I was about to wonder where Milledge was.

Right before the double, the Reds color guy said that with Bill Bray's stuff, he can get Shawn Green to roll it over and hit a grounder. Roll over that one!

Well, just because he can do it doesn't mean he's going to. Maybe he meant Green could roll it over... there, between those two outfielders.

Nice play by Keppinger to snag the hot grounder. (If only we'd kept him, we'd have a great player for the future at third.)

Nice play by LoDuca, staying in the rundown long enough to get Milledge to second.

Nice play by Rickey Henderson, reminding Milledge to hustle and get to second base.

Might as well say it again.

Hello. My name is Gary Majewski. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

Are the FSN Ohio broadcasters really so brazenly bored with baseball that they just spent a half inning discussing Bengals football?

bmfc1
Sep 04 2007 07:25 PM

I guess the Bengals were next... they've already discussed HS football twice.

Sep 04 2007 07:26 PM

How about that job Ruben is doing today?

Let's get Castillo's knee as much rest as it needs going down the stretch.

On Beltran: "Most switch-hitters hit the same way from both sides of the plate."

Not in my experience.

I wonder if tomorrow is "rest the infield day" for the Mets. If so, perhaps: C--DeFelice; 1B--Green; 2B--Anderson; SS--Gotay; 3B--Conine... with Chavez, Beltran and Milledge in the OF.

Do you really think that the above lineup is an automatic loss against the Reds?

If they were giving away bags of 20s in the parking lot, I think I'd leave this game.

I think sitting Reyes for a day would increase the odds of the team winning.
He just looks lost.

Gotay, Milledge, Beltran, Green, Conine, Anderson, Chavez, DiFelice should be a fairly certain loss against any major league team. if that were the every day lineup they'd lose 120 games

theres nothing wrong with that, but don't make it the same day you sit everyone else down

"theres nothing wrong with [sitting Reyes], but don't make it the same day you sit everyone else down"

Game's practically in the morning tomorrow (12:30) and I think we'll see wholesale changes in the starting lineup. It'll get the regs a rest from whenever this one ends until Friday night -- and I don't really have a problem with that.

In a September game, against a team struggling to stay out of last place, with Sepetember players of their own, with the Mets throwing out their real pitchers, in a 12:30 game after a night game, they'd have a fighting chance.

You get a big-league lineup of any sort out there, people still have to play, and aren't going to just throw their gloves out there and beat them.

Sheesh, look what they won with last year.

Nobody's talking about every day. Just trying to buy some rest.

So how many posts do you need before you get to be someone decent? So far I peaked at Jim the Bat Boy and it's been downhill from there. I bottomed out at Mel Rojas. I need a Joel Youngblood an Al Jackson in my near postiing future to appear presentable.

days off are fine, i'm just saying not all at once. give Wright, Reyes, LoDuca (why does he need off? he was just on the DL), and whoever else days off just not the same day

good show.
Hey-we won 5 in a row for the 1st time this season, at a time we needed it most.

Sometimes I question when Willie sits a guy who has become hot (talking Delgado here), but if he sits all the starters tomorrow and runs their wives out there, I have no problem with that.
He should know better than I what this team needs most right now.

Ray Daviault, Roberto Petagine, and Jerry Cram await you in the near future. Lastings Milledge and Gil Hodges are on your horizon. Joel Youngblood and Al Jackson are unfortunately a long way off in the distance. You can see your future designation and the player rankings here.
