I finally did what I've been meaning to do for a while and that's look up Burrell's numbers against us compared to what they are everywhere else.

An interesting stat mentioned in the SNY broadcast is that 2/3's of Burrell's HR's off the Mets are hit with 2 strikes.

And 18 of those 40 home runs have come at Shea,of his 100 RBI 49 at Shea....you're right though, his HR splits against the mets versus everyone else is freaky.

And I have no logical explanation for any of those quirks.

Maybe, but it could just be that Burrell has the Mets number.

Yeah, well tell him to lose it.

Sometimes its a teams sentiment is to go out and get a guy who punishes them as Burrell does.

bringing in burrell would be bad not because he's killed us in the past, but rather that he's just not that good against everybody else.
|
Willets Point Aug 30 2007 02:40 PM |
Maybe the Mets can just get Burrell and demote him to the minors.

But probably better than Green. Taking Burrell away from Philly for 18 games a year is nothing to sneeze at, but it might be cheaper to trade for another team's scouting report on the guy. Yes, I fear he'll come up in the ninth. Thank you for asking. Has Burrell been a chemically deleterious guy?

Yes, but it is possible to bring him in and break both his kneecaps.
|
Willets Point Aug 30 2007 03:31 PM |
Well, the Mets don't have to trade for him to do that.

The rest of my life. But then, I thought exactly that in '77. But with Burrell gone, I think the Phils would be a nice team to root for. I almost every game on TV. Not even an hour away. Two of my favorite players, right up there with Wright and Reyes, are Utley and Howard. .....and I dont even freakin believe Im saying this. Ive been a Met fan since 10 yrs old. Somebody shoot ME

If we just invite him over for dinner, I think he will catch on. This way, his guard will be down.
