Couple of questions

Had fun in the league this year, but a few things I didn't get.

One, why so many active offensive dudes? Looks like the idea was going for a realistic 25-man roster, but 4 outfielders and 2 utility is pretty softball-ish. I don't know if that's the default way fantasy baseball is done, but 4 infielders, (edit here), 1 catcher, 3 outfielders, and one Util (DH) would seem more realistic to me, be more restrictive, and would present tougher choices requiring more brain power from all of us.

Pitching's a little tougher, but I think the setup now is pretty good. The IP cap makes you really figure out what stats you want to go after.

Second, why the long period for waiver transactions to be finalized? Wouldn't 24 or even 48 hours be more than sufficient?

Same with the trade veto thing. Is it even needed? And if so, why 3 days?

Regardless, it was cool playing and I wish my all-NL team would've come through for me. Bah.

the "standard" roto-setup is 2xC, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, 5xOF, UT, 9xP
what we have is a compromise between that and the bare-bones approach that you've advocated. this is all in old threads and i don't care to rehash it now as i'm sure we'll all be arguing again in february.

the long period for waivers and vetoes are both because everyone doesnt check the site every day, i'd have no problem with 24 hours but others might. we'll talk about it when its time for next year to roll around.

*bump*

Would like to talk about some of these now.

So far we only have four teams. I'm guessing the four people already registered are the ones who'd be perfectly happy with a 24-hour wait period. Everybody else will probably want more time, but once we get a firm number for the league size we could vote on it.

Not sure how I feel about team size. I actually think it was more of a challenge to have extra roster holes to fill -- in a 13-team league, the pickings are very slim for that fourth outfielder spot. But there's room for debate on that too.

the waiver-time thing is easy to change and to put a poll up for once we have more people.

the roster-sizes are, imo, too small if we only have 10-12 people. the'yre about right for the 17 we had the first year. i don't want to turn this into a boring (shallow) standard yahoo league. those already exist and everyone is free to join up to 4 of them.

ok so 14 people have signed up and i see no reason to expect significantly more so lets talk rules. anyone with a proposed change open up a thread.
