I recently got an iPod,absolutly love and am becoming a podcast junkie, especially video podcasts.

My one problem right now is that when I open iTunes ans sync the iPod this error comes up....

The only difference is that it says please insert a disk into drive F.I've done some research but am not confident with anything I have read,I trust you guys on this, from what I have read thougfh this is a comon error and might have something to do with "Quick Time Player that's bundled with iTunes when you download that.

Any answers?

Make sure your F: drive isn't mapped to anything else. I had a problem with a user recently that boiled down to the fact that the iPod wanted to use the H: drive, and the H: drive was already assigned.

You can also change your iPod drive designation:

1. Click on Start
2. Right Click on "My Computer."
3. Click on "Manage."
4. Click on "Disk Management" under "Storage."
5. Plug in your iPod and see what disk it's using. You can then highlight the iPod, right click and use "Change Drive Letter and paths." Select a different drive letter.

Cheers Chuck,I folowed what you said and found it,it's under D right now,why would I change it...I don't get what itunes is lookin for...should I change D to F?

If it works, leave it.

AFAIK, iTunes uses the first unused drive letter (unused when it's plugged in, that is). But once it chooses it, it sticks with it.

Chuck I may have given you the impression that I know about Drivers and all that,I don't.

I still have the error problem popping up when I sync,I followed what you said but didn't change any letter,I'm lost.

Looks like that error message is for a process called "Alida.exe". I don't have an iPod or anything, but you may have a program that's conflicting with your iTunes. Did you recently (since this problem started) install a program called "Alida"?

Not to my knowledge I didn't,I think I have figured out with help what Chuck is getting at,I need to point the iPod to the F drive, right now it's probably looking at the D...I'll check when I get home.

Changing the letter didn't work but reseting the damn thing has....been on the Apple discussion boards the last few days and boy there seems to be a whole host of funky things that happen to the iPod.
