You guys will be stuck on a desert island wasting precious battery life fast-forwarding past "Lovin Every Minute of It." I was inspired by seeing the Hot Girls in Love video this morning on VH-1 Classic. A video that's not easy to search for at work. These guys were 10 shades of awful, especially lyrically, but I kinda tolerate "The Kid is Hot Tonight." But where will he be tomorrow?

At their best (their best, I tell you), they gave you ten hooks in search of a song. Each verse had nothing to do lyrically with the preveious one; often each line had nothing to do with the previous one. Scratch your heads during my dramatic reading of the "Queen of the Broken Hearts" lyrics sheet. The summer of 83 WAPP in New York played Hot Girls In Love constantly. I mean once every two hours constantly. That song and Stand Back, by Stevie Nicks. I recall they had an album giveaway where if they played a new Loverboy song, you called in and got a free copy of the album. My vote goes to the Kid is Hot tonight.

That was the summer WAPP --- with an entire commercial-free summer, mind you --- replaced WTFM, the mellow T, on the New York FM dail. It was a dark summer for easy listenin', I tell you what.
