Ms. Tiger and I closed on a condo in Boston today. Now we need to pack, move, unpack, and have a baby. Then the really stressful stuff begins.

We're not moving far, we're just switching from paying a wad of cash to the landlord each month to paying a wad of cash to the bank each month. And getting a home with a room for the baby. Plus there are lots of trees and parks in the area and a five minute walk to the subway which is huge.

You won't believe how many people ask me that (and didn't you once think I was African-American?). I'm actually from NJ, Connecticut, and Virginia. I've only lived in the Boston area 9 years and I think I've been to Southie maybe 5 times.

Yes I did for a long time think you were African American, you now say you're from NJ so that explains it.

I'm certain Seo is African American.

I was born in New Jersey but only lived there until I was 2, so I don't know how much of New Jersey is in me other than the toxins.

Seo has posted his picture here, and if he's of African descent, it's likely South African. I could be wrong.

Now I'm beginning to understand why I haven't moved for 9 years. Packing sucks!

Interesting things I discovering that for some reason I still have:

-copies of all my college (undergrad) applications and financial aid forms
-notes from all the meetings I attended when I was on the board of the Catholic Student Association

Both have been chucked. I'm sure I'll make more interesting discoveries as I continue to pack.

Funny stuff. My mom's a WASP from Oklahoma and my dad's of Mexican descent from Santa Fe. But I do have soul. Craploads of soul.

Congrats on the new jernt, Willets.

I'll bet you are getting excited now! What a pretty time of year to explore a new neighborhood, too.

All moved in. The movers were quick and efficient and came in about $100 less than the estimate. We have boxes everywhere to unpack.

This neighborhood is so much quieter than where I used to live. Helps that it's surrounded by parks and greenspace.

We moved into our new home yesterday. Bigger, nicer, a second garage space, more bathrooms, nicer neighborhood. Win win win win win.

Best of luck on the new place :)

Our place is old - we're about a week away from its House Mitzvah.
