What's with the zero after Wright's name?

Edgy DC
Sep 11 2007 05:04 PM

A guess: he has zero at-bats in the box score that lineup was ripped from.

HA!
Good guess.
Still, an ominous omen.

Zvon

Reyes starts the night with a double to left..
I couldn't see that at bat but I picture him laying off that high pitch
and waiting for the one he could groove with.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 05:27 PM

Castillo reaches on error, Reyes goes to third.

Errors are suppose to kill,..but...

somehow Wright grounds out and its Reyes who is out at third.

Anyone have any details on that?

Valadius
Sep 11 2007 05:29 PM

Hernandez only needed 10 pitches in the first. Good sign.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 05:31 PM

Statracker has Reyes out at third, CBSsl has him out at home.

Ill have to imagine what happened.

Beltran Ks in a big spot.

Good question Elster.

Might be me but whenever I look up it seems Green is being misused.
He ends up on the bench when the Mets are playing pitchers he has hit well during his career (don't know if thats the case here, however).

Is Green in the doghouse?

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 05:42 PM

Hernandez loads the bases in the 2nd, and none are out . 8-(

Well Conine hasn't gotten a start since the 7th. I'd give him a start every once in a while with Delgado out.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 05:49 PM

Whew,...that could have been way worse.

Braves get one.

Big K of A.Jones for the 1st out, big DP ends it.

The single run was walked in.

Yea, I guess you have to dust em all off from time to time, but I question the timing.
And not the timing of using Conine,..more so the timing of when Green isnt used.

Conine lined out to third there. It reads like a well hit ball.

3-0, them.

We don't have a run yet, Z.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 06:15 PM

Whoops.
Wishful thinking.

(I think when Reyes reached 3rd with no out earlier I counted that as a run in my mind)

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 06:21 PM

Francoeur singles to lead off the 4th, and A.Jones is hit by a pitch.

Then Harris draw a walk...
Bases bloated, again.....

Valadius
Sep 11 2007 06:22 PM

Ok, now I'm really concerned about Dookay.

9-0, not the Mets.

But if we don;t start cutting that lead down soon it'll be a B-squad comeback we hope for.

Big middle finger to those fuckface front-row "fans" partially responsible for that debacle.

Calling Mike Piazza... we could use some of that magic right now...

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 06:40 PM

It is early.

And this Brave pitcher is named Buddy Carlyle.
Sounds like a 1950's teenage heart throb, not a pitcher.

Beltran hears us.
Doubles to start the Mets 4th.

A doofus in an orange cap sitting in the front row did a Steve Bartman impression on a foul ball that Wright might have caught.

During Kelly Johnson's AB, he pop-fouled one into the front row behind third base, but several fans, including a fat scumbag in an orange hat felt it was their play and got in the way. Johnson later had a 2-run single and scored.

How cool is it to have Lo Duca hitting?

How totally right were the Mets to disable him when he didn't want to go?

I never get sound from YouTube MB vid clips.
Is there something I have to enable to do so?

Pelfrey in to stick his thumb in the dam.

Phils are losing to the Rockies, 5-0.

Valadius
Sep 11 2007 06:55 PM

So apparently Lo Duca went KABOOM while my page was refreshing. Now Pelfrey comes on to pitch the fifth.

seawolf17
Sep 11 2007 06:55 PM

I don't know that Wright would have caught that ball.

And hey, even if we lose this game, it's a meaningless game to a pathetic third-place team.

Pelfrey may have injured his thumb trying to stop the leak.
I Kid, but, Braves plate another.

10-3,Blahs

Pelfrey tossed 32 pitches in that inning :s.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 07:04 PM

Reyes leads off the 5th with his second double of the game :) .

Maybe Carlyle will be taught the lesson that being a teenage heart throb is such a fleeting thing.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 07:18 PM

Wright draws a walk--
Beltran Ks in a big spot there.

The Prince of Milwaukee smacks his 44th homer in Pittsburg.
Man, he's been kaboomin all over the place lately.
I don't like that,...don't like it a bit.

Alou grounds out and it stays, 10-3.

Edgy DC
Sep 11 2007 07:31 PM

COLLAZO is in. Spelled correctly. Charlie Samuels got the memo.

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 07:38 PM

Third double of the game for Reyes :).

Zvon
Sep 11 2007 07:54 PM

Wright does drive in Reyes with a screaming double (<I imagined it that way).
There's the run I was counting earlier :).

Rollins pops his 27th dinger in Philly, and the MVP candidates are firing on all cylinders tonight.
J-Roll owns a OPS of .877 going into tonights game.
I went looking for actual total bases by him but I can't find this.
I do believe he is far and away leading the N.L. in that dept.

I was initially irritated to find that the Mets were playing the Braves and TBS wasn't airing the game. However, after reading through this thread I guess I should count that as a good thing.

Nice to read that Reyes had a good game at the plate. I would really like to see him get back on track before the postseason gets started.

I thought also this game would be on TBS.

I seriously considered leaving my seat, bribing the usher whatever the going rate is these days (used to be $5) to get on the field level and sit within earshot of the guy so I could berate him until he left the game for being a the biggest horse's ass I've seen at a game in a long time.

I think I can understand Bartman a lot better. He didn't deserve the grief he got but he was still a moron.

Oh yeah, I should add that I'm pretty cranky, because losing 13-5, even to pathetic third place teams pisses me off.
