It's ok, we're gonna win.

Sep 15 2007 11:37 AM

Howie: "No question, he was out at first." MLB umps suck.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 11:40 AM

He Ks that damn Utley.
HA!

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 11:43 AM

Pedro has 5 K's in 2 innings.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 11:44 AM

Beltran comes up with a double... one at-bat too late.

martin
Sep 15 2007 11:47 AM

...timing.
Its all timing.

I think Pedro is snappin off some nice pitches, but I missed that 1st inning.

Walk to Green loads em! 0 out!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 11:50 AM

omg.

Utley throws home on the DP grounder, and gets the out at the plate.

hmmmm.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 11:51 AM

Then Milledge takes one for the team and its tied.
Nice try Utley. *raspberry

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 11:57 AM

19 straight games for Alou!!! NINETEEN STRAIGHT!!!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 12:02 PM

Yep.
Pretty damn good for a wobbly old fart.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 12:07 PM

Moises is gonna get cheated out of Schaefer Player of the Month.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 12:14 PM

Alou and Lo Duca playing the day game after the night game.
Im somewhat surprised both are, but I like this.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 12:18 PM

Lo Duca slaps in the 3rd Met run with a line single to right.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 12:20 PM

4 steals so far this inning. Dookie drives in the third Mets run of the day!

Next year may never happen. Let's win now.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 12:37 PM

Reyes singles with one out in the 4th.

Pedro has 8 K's through 4 innings.

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 12:39 PM

Caught by the pitchout. Feck.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 12:39 PM

Fire Ricky! ;)

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 12:42 PM

Happens. Cost of doing business.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 12:43 PM

Utley grounds to second on the first pitch he sees. That's how we do it.

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 12:47 PM

And a 10-pitch inning to some big bats.

Hard to picture a post-season rotation without him. His ERA is now sitting at 1.80.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 12:51 PM

He's the ace again if he keeps this up.

David gets his first hit of the day.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:01 PM

Wright with the lead-off single, but a well played inning by the Pharts.
Touche~ Charlie.

3-1 Mets.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:04 PM

Rowand with the first really nicely hit ball off Pedro, a line double down the left field line.
Martinez up to 93 pitches.
Mota's up in the pen.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:06 PM

Not Mota...

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:10 PM

Six complete for Martinez. That should be it for him.
Great job today!

Pedro,
your country salutes you!

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:11 PM

9 K's in 6 innings - good day's work from Pedro.

Look who Philly's sent out to replace Lohse! Kane Davis!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:14 PM

Great at-bat here by the Goat, regardless of the outcome.

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 01:15 PM

Ten-pitch walk.

The guy may have a future as a Marlon Anderson.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:15 PM

Gotay gets a 10-pitch walk. Here's Reyes.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:17 PM

Fire Ricky! ;)

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:20 PM

Reyes walks, so here's Castillo.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:23 PM

Re-hire Ricky!

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:25 PM

Reyes steals second, and Castillo walks. Now Wright comes to the plate.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:26 PM

Fire Ricky! ;)

Ok, I know Ricky's not at fault-
but whats Reyes doing tryiing to steal 3rd with Wright up there?

Gah.

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 01:26 PM

That's three caught stealings in a row.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:27 PM

In good news, Ramon Castro was activated from the DL today after missing a month with his bad back.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:36 PM

Its not easy being Green when you make such big errors.

3-2.

Burrell.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:37 PM

Green fucks up. *sigh*

I like this picture of Pedro.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:39 PM

Any picture in Met blue and pinstripes is a keeper in my book.
Thank you sir.

*Z opens Met image file>drops it in.

Big K of Burrell.

Howard...

After a shaking start to the inning, Feliciano comes back to K Utley, Berrell, and Howard.

Mets cling to a slim 3-2 lead going to the bottom of the seventh.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:44 PM

Three straight K's. Me likey.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:45 PM

Another really great game so far.
And personally I have not noticed any umpires.

seawolf17
Sep 15 2007 01:47 PM

="Zvon"]And personally I have not noticed any umpires.

Z, they're the guys in the dark suits lingering around the bases waving their arms any time anything happens.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:47 PM

OW!

But he gets up and continues. Whew.

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 01:49 PM

So, who comes in for the eighth? Sosa?

Zvon

Oh...hmmmm,very interesting.

Feliciano stays in!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:51 PM

Phuck.

TransMonk
Sep 15 2007 01:52 PM

Mother chucker.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:53 PM

That was not a bad pitch (Rowand had to go down and get it) but whats he doing facing a right hander to start off the inning?
Gah,gah,gah.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:53 PM

What's happening? Yahoo Sports is frozen on the 7th inning stretch.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 01:54 PM

Home run by Rowand.
3-3 Mets.

Edgy DC
Sep 15 2007 01:54 PM

Tuning my guitar, look back up and the game is tied.

Must've been the tuning.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 01:57 PM

Oh good lord.

I think I'll go get mine.

Gonna write a song called "I Don't Like Sosa's Facial Expression Or Body Language".

Wanna hear it?

Here it go...

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:03 PM

Now Yahoo's gone into fast catch-up mode on the game.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:06 PM

But Pete LaForest sucks! GAHHHHH...

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:07 PM

Jeeze--those were strikes last night.
Whats that guy in dark suit doing behind the plate?....oh.

NOOOOOOOOO!

NOT NOW BELTRAN!!
DON"T MIS-PLAY A FLY BALL NOW!!!

Rockin' Doc
Sep 15 2007 02:09 PM

It seems as if the Phillies have become the new Braves. The one divisional foe that we just can't seem to beat.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:09 PM

*bangs head on desk repeatedly*

Willie... a word of advice. When a relief pitcher WALKS Pete LaForest, you take him the fuck OUT!!!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:11 PM

Schoeneweis's first appearance in a coons age.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:14 PM

Hey...

I see now...I know what the Mets are doing.

They would rather see the Phillies in the playoffs than the Padres.

Hey,...I like this strategy.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:15 PM

Bring in Ramon Castro!

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:20 PM

We need Blastings Killedge to do something here.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:27 PM

And Blastings does nothing.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:30 PM

<<<ooooo, Im Mr.Wright.

I tried to make his hat more blue and its ends up looking like a powdered it.

Gah.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:36 PM

Hey, Z, aren't there a few top-50-ish avatars that are missing? Like Reyes, Trachsel, Glavine perhaps? I know some are missing, but I'm not sure which ones.

Zvon

Valadius wrote:

They have all been submitted.
I was Reyes the other day and no av. *sob*

To Edgy: I should add a fielding action shot of Reyes on that.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:43 PM

Come on! We can rally here!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:45 PM

UGH!!!
Fuckin ridiculous!
DAMN UMPS!

That was so outside!!!!!

And the lead-off guy---WTF!?

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:46 PM

...and Anderson gets hurled.

Reyes draws the walk.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:46 PM

Again, I'm gonna throw it out there: Tim Donaghy.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:48 PM

Reyes gets a SB on that indifferent take of 2nd.
Infield single by Castillo.

David Wright.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:52 PM

Yahoo froze again after the Anderson K, so I dunno what's going on.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:54 PM

Wright K'd.
Was a good pitch--he was pissed.

Beltran flew out to right.
Game ovah!

metsguyinmichigan
Sep 15 2007 02:54 PM

Just getting here.

Our bullpen is becoming a disaster.

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:55 PM

Phils have beaten the Mets for the 7th time in a row.

That was their 45th comeback win, and that currently leads the league in that department.

Valadius
Sep 15 2007 02:56 PM

Goddammit!!!

Why can't we protect a freaking lead once in a while?

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:57 PM

Pedro pitched a fantastic game, and thats what Im gonna take away from this.
Looking for anything else would drive me maaaaaaaaaad!

Zvon
Sep 15 2007 02:58 PM

Fortunately Alou kept his hitting streak going.

Unfortunately he only had one hit, and it was an infield single.

Fortunately we held that damn Utley at bay.

Unfortunately Rowand stepped up and had a great game.

Fortunately we stole 6 bases.

Unfortunately we were thrown out 3 times, one crucial, in my book.

Fortunately we got to test Feliciano for 2 innings.

Unfortunately he FAILED that test, and we have no pitcher to fill that type of gap, so it seems.
(He did have a fantastic one inning though, striking out the side, the heart of the Phillies order. I don't consider that fortunate. That was just damn good pitching.)

Fortunately Schoeneweis looked real good in 0.2 innings.

Unfortunately, we need pitchers that can go longer when needed, and he's still Schoeneweis.

Fortunately I'm having fish for dinner.

Unfortunately I don't have enough to feed you all.
