Spotted this on craiglist.

Any idea who this is? I know the Mets have never had a catcher named "Rob" "Bob" or "Robert" and never had a #73...

Sounds like a fraud who got on the field to take battig practice.

CALL MY GIRLFRIEND TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT - (212) 761-6368.

What an unhappy chick she must be. Anybody up for doing some followup work? You could get a nice short piece for the NY Press or the Voice or something.

What Edgy said.

]ADULTS, GIRLS, AND KIDS WELCOME

But please, no boys.

]I HAVE REAL PHOTOS WHEN I PLAYED FOR THE NEW YORK METS

Or you could just tell me your name and I'll look you up.

]I WILL ALSO BRING THEM TO OUR PRACTICE AND BRING SOME OLD METS GEAR TOO.

Um, okay.

]I WENT TO COLLEGE ON A FULL BASEBALL SCHOLARSHIP

Where?

]I CAN MEET IN YOUR LOCAL PARK, YARD, OR WHERE A GOOD HARD PRACTICE WILL WORK OUT BEST.

Sounds like a code for some other type of 'coaching' if you ask me.

]MY GIRLFRIEND USUALLY TAGS ALONG TO COME WATCH THE LESSONS

Is she hot?

]IF YOU PREVIOUSLY CONTACTED ME AND DID NOT REACH ME, I WAS OUT OF COUNTRY FOR 3 WEEKS & NOW HAVE A NEW PHONE NUMBER - APOLOGIES.

Shifty, yes, but the Mets did have a BP catcher named Rob Dromenhauser back in the mid-80s... he came with Terry Leach to my baseball camp when I was a kid.

That's the name I was thinking of. Couldn't place it.

Well, then, he may actually have some substance to his claim:

BTW, the Mets did have a 73 once, Kenny Rogers who wanted 37.

Also that BP jersey looks more like an mid-90s (after the Mets lost the tail on Mets) jersey than the 80s, and I doubt thats Rob Dromenhauser in that photo, though I need to do some more research on that.

The author of that article went to the Peter Noone school of writing. Second paragraph same as the first!

rob has a lot of irons in the fire, if that's him.

he's got a nice little restaurant in bay shore:

]Cool Water Grill, 25 Bayview Ave., Bay Shore, 631-206-0420. Owner Rob Dromerhauser, a former major league baseball player and bull-pen coach, is a personable host at this marina-side spot with a simple American seafood-slanted menu. A sesame-seared tuna appetizer special, sampled recently, was spot-on.

and he's also president of american sports history inc.
http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/snapshot/snapshot_article.asp?symbol=AMSH
]American Sports History Incorporated through its wholly owned subsidiary America Sports Academy, LLC (ASA) provides multi-sport youth instructional programs throughout Long Island, NY. Led by its President and former member of the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets, Rob Dromerhauser. In addition, the company has focusing its efforts in developing sports related instruction and business around America's five major professional sports: baseball, basketball, football, hockey and soccer, and also wrestling and lacrosse. With respect to these areas, the company made investments in research and development of certain technologies; its Internet Web site, SportsInfo.com, and; Youth Academies through its subsidiary America Sports Academy, LLC offered to children ages 5-15.

not sure why he'd need to go the craigs list route then...

of course, that sportsinfo.com site is a shady-looking gambling-info site, with nothing to do whatsoever with sports instruction, so who knows, really.
