Leadership.

Last night during the game as the bad play and errors piled up Keith talked about the need for a leader to step up and take this team by the scruff of the neck, and he went on about it quite a bit,Gary tried to tease out of him how or who that might happen.

That's the thing though,to me more than other team sports leadership might be tougher to define in baseball, like in soccer an on field leader can be vital and become a legend in the sport, think Roy Keane.

In football or soccer you can scream on the field then go and make a crunching tackle and get your team mates revved up,can't do that in baseball though, start screaming on the field or tackle a guy then go sit on the bench, doesn't work.

So back to Keith, who steps up and how,and what is leadership anyway, never hear much about it when a team is winning.

I nominate Delgado. He's been sidelined, and if he can return with a big game (and soon!), and can step up in the clubhouse, it might be the jolt that they need.

Lo Duca's the most emotional guy out there --- save for Pedro every fifth day --- but he might actually be some sort of raging madman that his teammates have moved away from.

I do like that he's been pulling the ball since he came back. With three backups, I wouldn't be shocked to see him do something nutty to get himself tossed to fire up his team.

I also wouldn't be shocked if it didn't work.
