Mets Lineup vs Willis:
Benjamin Grimm Sep 20 2007 04:29 PM |
Was sorta hoping (but not expecting) to see Delgado's name.
G-Fafif Sep 20 2007 04:31 PM |
Said the man whose name adorns the stadium we just left, "All of us might wish at times that we lived in a more tranquil world, but we don't. And if our times are difficult and perplexing, so are they challenging and filled with opportunity." Easy and tension-free would be fine. Victory is paramount. Willis got saved for this one. That's pretty annoying.
G-Fafif Sep 20 2007 04:36 PM |
Castillo a late scratch, the knee. Delgado believes he's maybe a day away.
metirish Sep 20 2007 04:44 PM |
Wasn't sure if we had a game tonight,LGM.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 05:06 PM |
I said to myself that I'll try to tolerate the Marlins announcers instead of listening to Howie & Tom on the laptop... that didn't last through the intro as the Marlins announcer said "The Marlins entertain the evil empire."
Zvon Sep 20 2007 05:11 PM |
Whats Willis trying to do?
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 05:15 PM |
HOLY MOISES!

Zvon Sep 20 2007 05:18 PM |

Zvon Sep 20 2007 05:57 PM |
I love Willis.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 06:27 PM |
Just getting here.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 06:34 PM |
Gotta love hearing the "Let's Go Mets" chant in Miami.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 06:38 PM |
Paulie!!!!!!!
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 06:43 PM |

(Double post, sorry about that)
Zvon Sep 20 2007 06:48 PM |
Did Willie even visit the mound that inning?
Zvon Sep 20 2007 06:52 PM |
Willis will challenge all our bats.
Benjamin Grimm Sep 20 2007 07:02 PM |
I'm gagging!
Benjamin Grimm Sep 20 2007 07:05 PM |
No Schaefer for Glavine tonight.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 07:08 PM |
Ramirez is a monster.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 07:10 PM |
Not Schoenweis!!!
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 07:14 PM |
ARGH! 6-5 Nats. 3 run homer for Werth.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 07:15 PM |
A pinch hit 3 run homer by Werth. Dat Bastage!
Zvon Sep 20 2007 07:17 PM |
I'll trust Schoenweis for one batter. Just one.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 07:18 PM |
And now the Phillies have the tying run on 3d with one out.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 07:19 PM |
6-6.
Nymr83 Sep 20 2007 07:24 PM |
Milledge ejected and physically restrained by Rickey and Willie.
Kid Carsey Sep 20 2007 07:26 PM |
Well, that solves what to with Green if Delgado comes back for the next
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 07:46 PM |
I'll admit I thought I once knew what a legitimate check swing was and what an offer was and now I realize I just don't know, but it doesn't seem standardized at all.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 07:52 PM |
Thanks for making us all look like idiots, Mr. Mook.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 07:53 PM |
Bleeping Heilman.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 07:56 PM |
Gotay this game up, Mets.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 07:58 PM |
You see?! You see what you get when you go up against the Orphans?!
Frayed Knot Sep 20 2007 07:59 PM |
Don't bunt, just pull the freakin' ball.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 07:59 PM |
Huge Dookie double.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 07:59 PM |
Ruben just bunted for a hit. My word.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 08:00 PM |
Jimmy F'in Rollins.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:00 PM |
Ruben!
Mendoza Line Sep 20 2007 08:01 PM |
Nice work by Gotay not getting that bunt down!
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:01 PM |
Thought he was out.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:02 PM |
Wow! Cargo Pants' toe got in there.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 08:02 PM |
They tried to get Go-Go-Gomez at 3rd?
Frayed Knot Sep 20 2007 08:03 PM |
Nope. Not officially or actually. Greenie walks - sacks drunk for Jose!
Zvon Sep 20 2007 08:03 PM |
Bases bulging with Mets. NO out.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:05 PM |
Yeah, thanks. I figured it out and spoke in the past tense.
Frayed Knot Sep 20 2007 08:06 PM |
Gregg is going to bounce one of these pitches all the way to the backstop.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 08:08 PM |
Awful time to strike out Jose.
Mendoza Line Sep 20 2007 08:09 PM |
NASTY!!!

Feliciano was warming up in the 'pen (and Wagner wasn't).
martin Sep 20 2007 08:15 PM |
damn that manderson is cool. the way he is chillin at the plate, so smooth. always with his bat on his shoulder, just kicking it, not stressed. just hangin out. if you wanna pitch, hey man that is cool he is just chillin out, no big deal.

I believe you Edgy. Zombie Beltran comes alive to drive in Manderson.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 08:15 PM |
Edgy--I have mlb audio on the laptop and the DVR delayed for a few seconds... Wagner got up and sat down. They think it's his back. Feliciano and Sosa.

Zvon Sep 20 2007 08:25 PM |
For the moment.
Frayed Knot Sep 20 2007 08:26 PM |
I suppose this would be a good time to ask those fans if the sight of Billy Wagner still makes them nervous.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:27 PM |
What's the point of expanding the rosters and having all these fresh arms if Willie is going to keep trotting these same guys out there night after night?
Valadius Sep 20 2007 08:28 PM |
We haven't called up too many guys.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 08:29 PM |
ugh. Had time too.

Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:30 PM |
MVPenis.

Ugh.

Great stop, awful throw.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:33 PM |
Dove for the ball, came up clean, had enough time to double-pump, and threw it wide.
Mendoza Line Sep 20 2007 08:34 PM |
Jeez.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:34 PM |
They're killing me. Absolutely killing me.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:35 PM |
Call it now. I say walk Treanor.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 08:36 PM |
I say strike him out.

Unfuckinbelievable
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 08:39 PM |
Wagner better be in a hospital.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:40 PM |
New ballgame.
Benjamin Grimm Sep 20 2007 08:40 PM |
If this game runs long, who pitches?
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:40 PM |
So who do you bring out in the 10th? Sele? Humber?
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 08:41 PM |
Let's not forget Sosa deserved a save there.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:42 PM |
Just unacceptable. This is a freaking last-place team.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 08:42 PM |
I have to say that surprised me. Thought the inning was Feliciano's. But I guess only if he got em 1-2-3.

Collazo, Humber, and Dave Williams out there.

Benjamin Grimm Sep 20 2007 08:44 PM |
Think Delgado is available as a PH?

metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:45 PM |
OK, Gomez, show you belong!

Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:48 PM |
Delgado is lacing his spikes up.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:50 PM |
How can they bring Sosa back for the 10th?
Mendoza Line Sep 20 2007 08:51 PM |
The alternatives aren't pretty, either.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 08:51 PM |
I can't watch or read this half inning coming up.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:52 PM |
It's easy. It's hard, but it's easy.
Willets Point Sep 20 2007 08:52 PM |
Extra inning game on the road = bottle of antacid.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 08:54 PM |
Broke his bat, hit too slowly, and the winning run is on.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 08:55 PM |
Gotta whiff Ugly here. He's not bunting

Are you ever going to suggest an alternate pitcher or just continually say; Not Him ... Not Him ... Not Him to each reliever brought in? Or maybe Willie should put out the signal for 'Guy who's on our dream roster' instead.
Mendoza Line Sep 20 2007 08:57 PM |
crap.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 08:58 PM |
Absolutely shameful. Beyond shameful. I'm joining the people who want to puke.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 08:59 PM |
Four hits for Uggls.
Willets Point Sep 20 2007 09:00 PM |
We'll get 'em tomorrow.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 09:00 PM |

I didn't object to Feliciano. And I've asked about Humber and the others. Clearly Sosa didn't have it.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 20 2007 09:01 PM |
I hope so, and I think so. But wow, this one hurts.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 09:01 PM |
This was too much to ask of Sosa, pitching in clutch situtations in relief two nights in a row. He's not been bred as a reliever. The move in the 10th was whomever was out there, batter by batter. And if they ran out, then shame on Omar because he could have 5 more guys sitting out there. Yes, nobody else left is as good as Sosa but Sosa had a hard inning last night and another one tonight. Sele and Williams aren't that good, of course, but they're not tired and Sosa was.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 09:01 PM |
...what's I miss?
Willets Point Sep 20 2007 09:03 PM |
To borrow the philosophy of AA, you have to hit rock bottom before you can start crawling back up. I think the Mets hit rock bottom tonight.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 09:04 PM |
That's fine, and I mostly agree, but it's largely the realm of theory. We're running out of pitching.
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 09:05 PM |
G'night folks. Will anybody sleep well tonight?
bmfc1 Sep 20 2007 09:06 PM |

LOL. Thanks, I got a kick out of that.
Edgy DC Sep 20 2007 09:20 PM |
As long as I sleep 10% better than Wright and Wagner, I guess I'm fine.
metirish Sep 20 2007 09:26 PM |
Willie in the post-game said Wagner had shoulder and back stiffness.
holychicken Sep 20 2007 09:28 PM |
Whoa whoa. . .you were actually ABLE to watch the post game? I couldn't get away from my TV fast enough.
metirish Sep 20 2007 09:30 PM |
Gotta say that Willie looked and sounded shattered.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 20 2007 09:31 PM |
If Wright doesn't throw the fucking ball into the photobox he probably has a save.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 09:37 PM |
Yep, and Wright will be the first to echo this. The boys are getting battle hardened. Lets hope its not too late.
Zvon Sep 20 2007 09:50 PM |
Johnny Dickshot Sep 21 2007 07:02 AM |
If we could replay that 9th inning but not take away the Wright error, we have to look at the Cody's weak-ass bloop and how it was played.
metirish Sep 21 2007 07:11 AM |
So much stuff happened in the game last night ,not long after the Milledge tirade the game was again stopped because Heilman was hit with an object while on the mound getting ready to throw, after much pointing back and forth a "fan" wearing a Reyes shirt was escorted from the stadium, yeah I know things are rough right now but that was a shit thing to do,fucking asshole.
soupcan Sep 21 2007 07:14 AM |
I was out last night and Blackberry-in' this game on the terrorist train home last night.
Benjamin Grimm Sep 21 2007 07:17 AM |
They have ten games left in which they can right this ship and storm into the playoffs.
metirish Sep 21 2007 07:18 AM |
I'm thinking the same thing, really even if we make it I can't see us getting past whoever we play in the first round, unless of course our starters go eight innings every night which isn't going to happen obviously. Fucking pissed as I have ever been.(course I think i said that during the season as well)
Edgy DC Sep 21 2007 07:20 AM |
Rough, nothing. We were down by one.
soupcan Sep 21 2007 07:25 AM |
Down by one these days is as good as the game being over.
metirish Sep 21 2007 07:26 AM |
Well I meant rough over all and my point was that this asshole shouldn't have thrown whatever he threw at Heilman.
Benjamin Grimm Sep 21 2007 07:35 AM |
I really don't understand the quick hook that Feliciano got.
Edgy DC Sep 21 2007 07:38 AM |
I'm going to disagree. If you're down by one agaisnt a last-place club with Heilman and, presumably, Wagner ready to go, and you take it upon yourself to assault players, you have lost perspective near to the point of institutionalization, and you need to be kept from ballparks. The game is humbling and intensesly frustrating, with fans 29 of 30 teams going home disappointed, with little or no say over how their teams perform. Mets fans had better learn to deal with that when they're young and stop embarrassing the rest of us by jackassing their way through life.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 21 2007 07:39 AM |
Yeah, I thought the hook was way too quick especially considering we were Wag-less and up by 3. I suspect Willie doesn't much care for Feliciano.
Edgy DC Sep 21 2007 07:48 AM |
I think, being in the no-doubles defense that put that ball on the fringes of Endy's range to begin with, he was in containment mode.
soupcan Sep 21 2007 07:52 AM |
C'mon - I'm not advocating throwing things at players. Just disagreeing with your assessment that down by one these days for the Mets is not 'rough'.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 21 2007 07:55 AM |
I'm down with that speculation.
Edgy DC Sep 21 2007 08:06 AM |
Sure, but I'm still pissed at Met fans for losing they shit under fire. You got if tough? I seen the toughest around, say the prophet David Lee. Some Mets guy in a Springsteen shirt and an ugly second-hand Max Weinberg haircut was hanging out with Farmer Ted and me by the Mets' bullpen, looking for kids to kick. Made me feel real good about the DC handgun ban. Nothing uglier than a Met fan who can't chill da fuck out. They're not helping their team, and, far worse, they're embarassing me.
