How in the heck does Kim have both 9 wins and an ERA of 6.06? Has he been in and out of the bullpen? I didn't even know he was with the Marlins.

Updates:
Beltran in the lineup.
Milledge dropped the appeal, serving the suspension starting today.
Wagner could pitch today but they will avoid him if possible.

All as per John Delcos' blog for the Journal News.

Because, despite what Scrapple8 contempuously says, wins are only partly a product of the quality of performance.

Wow, Carlos B., sacking it up, despite what Cleon says.

Again, the dude broke his fucking face and came back to play relatively quickly. He plays through his injuries.

Another error. I'm not bummed that we're playing two series with these guys before the season ends.

Zvon

We better be gettin that same inside corner that Kim is.

I wanna see Perez put it there ASAP too.

2-0 US

So far,
Perez= nastilicous!

Very encouraging so far.

Ollie looks to be on today.

Would be cool if he could go deep and give the pen a rest.

Zvon
Sep 22 2007 03:02 PM

I do believe Green took that one for the team.
He could have gotten out of the way,...he was out of the way.
Then just dropped his knee a little bit so the pitch would hit him.

Come on Castro. Keep it goin'.

Sweet, Ramon goes KABOOM.

5-0 good guys.

Zvon
Sep 22 2007 03:05 PM

Don't Wright look very Pythonish in that kaboom?
Twitish of the yearish?

Wright's scattershot arm is troublesome at times.

Random OOTS notes:

JJ Hardy broke up a Smoltz no-hitter with a 2-run homer. Still the only Brew Crew hit, 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th.

Toronto had a 3-2 lead over the Yanks but then gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th...only to get 5 in the top of the 7th off the Yanks' pen. 8-6 Toronto, top of the 7th.

Perez: first pitch strikes to 16 of 21 batters today. Very happy with that.

Wright does have a scattershot arm at times, but his hitting is most effective when he scattering the hits to all fileds as he has been this month.

Intentional walk to Beltran and now Alou gets plunked. Bases are juiced for big Carlos.

Zvon
Sep 22 2007 04:10 PM

Dad's draws the loaded walk.
Is it possible to break a game open when you are leading 6-1.
Is it already broken open?

Kid Carsey
Sep 22 2007 04:36 PM

I understand what Tim means, but do we need a requiem for Mets when
they're up 7-1? I counted at least four Yankee ^%$* sucking by him to-
day as well.

Just venting.

metsguyinmichigan
Sep 22 2007 04:50 PM

Just got back!

Glad Alou got that last at-bat to extend the streat!

And Ollie loots to be giving the bully the day off. If he come out now, maybe Willie will at least give it to one of the call-ups.

metsguyinmichigan
Sep 22 2007 04:52 PM

Zvon

Fantasmagoricaltastical performance Oliver Perez.

Finally, a good old boring regular win.

Gwreck

Heilman was not the correct choice of pitcher for the 9th inning.

I must have missed this quiz.

Gwreck
Sep 22 2007 08:18 PM

He pitched of the last 4 games. With a 5 run lead, there were plenty of better-rested options to pitch an inning (Sele; Humber; Collazo; Muiniz).

Zvon
Sep 22 2007 08:25 PM

Im not here to argue.

Watchin the Phils.
Its 1-1 in the 10th, Phils are rallying.

1st and 2nd, no out, Ryan Howard up.
Howard is 0h for 4 with 4 Ks this game.

Zvon
Sep 22 2007 08:29 PM

RBI single, Ryan Howard.

Dagnabbitt.

I agree with Gwreck regarding Willie's apparent reluctance to use may of the arms in the bullpen. It seems no lead is safe enough to entrust it to Sele, Humber, or Collazo. Willie seems to have little faith in anyone other than Wagner, Mota, Sosa, and Heilman. He uses Feliciano and Schoeneweis it seems begrudgingly. Lord knows why Willie seems to have such faith in Mota and continues to repeatedly trot him out to the mound this season.
