Valadius Sep 25 2007 04:23 PM |
Washington Nationals
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:11 PM |
This is gonna be a weird one for me to follow, as I can watch the game on MASN, but my TV is also acting as my monitor for my laptop until I get my new laptop. So I'll be switching between the two, most likely.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:16 PM |
Anybody else noticed the resemblance between Ronnie Belliard and Carmelo Anthony?
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:20 PM |
In out-of-town news, Atlanta's leading the Phillies 3-0 after a 3-run Teixeira homer.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:22 PM |
Oh Jesus Christ.
Centerfield Sep 25 2007 05:24 PM |
Fucking Nationals.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:25 PM |
ANOTHER ONE?!?!?
metirish Sep 25 2007 05:28 PM |
Damn,I take a shower and come back it's 4 zip.......Philly are down 3 to 1...looks like a slugfest there.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:28 PM |
Okay Mets. Get fired up. Let's knock Bergmann around.
Centerfield Sep 25 2007 05:29 PM |
Unfuckingbelievable. These guys do nothing but piss me off.

JOSE GOES KABOOM!!!!!!
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:36 PM |
So Reyes leads off with a homer, and the next three hitters all ground out.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:41 PM |

Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 05:46 PM |
Is Milledge available today or is it one more game?
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:49 PM |
Dunno.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 05:52 PM |
It's not easy beating Green
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:53 PM |
Shawn Green drives in Alou after an AWESOME at-bat!!!!!!

bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 05:53 PM |
Bob Carpenter, showing the announcing skill that has gotten him fired from Nationals TV: "If that ground ball was 10 feet either way, it would have been a double play."
Valadius Sep 25 2007 05:57 PM |
I was wondering who that blowhard was. I can't stand listening to him.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 05:58 PM |
Vlad--you won't have to much longer as Stan Kasten gave him the boot as of the end of the season.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 06:02 PM |
Thank God for that.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 06:04 PM |
Great effort, Tom. Way to be the stopper we need.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 06:13 PM |
OMG. 4-3 Atlanta. Ryan Howard with a bomb.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 06:15 PM |
Tommy doesn't want Pelfrey to feel so bad about sucking last night. And Maine, too. And he's lowering the bar for Humber.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 06:16 PM |
Dammit, Tom!
Valadius Sep 25 2007 06:36 PM |
Glavine's probably done.

Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 06:45 PM |
Jose, get with the freaking program.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 06:47 PM |
And Philadelphia takes the lead, 5-4.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 06:48 PM |
Fuckshit.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 06:48 PM |
Fucking Zimmerman.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 06:49 PM |
I don't know about you guys, but I'm going out of my mind. Lead off double and the guy doesn't score. 1st and 3d with Wright up and the sucky, sucky Nationals turn a brilliant DP. What the hell is going on?
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 06:49 PM |
Two runs there if Jose gits that runner over.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 06:50 PM |
It's fucking Reyes' fault. Can't even get the fucking guy to third.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 06:50 PM |
Was Wright safe?
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 06:51 PM |
He was very out.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 06:52 PM |
Let's give a hearty Welcome Abordick to Carlos Muniz.

Braves tie it.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 06:54 PM |
OK, just got here.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 06:56 PM |
And they even have the kharma of the pinstripes and blue caps!

Atlanta, 6-5.
A Boy Named Seo Sep 25 2007 06:58 PM |
Pretty decent sinker and slider. Most importantly, a scoreless inning.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 06:58 PM |
No they don't. It's black-and-blue tonight.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 06:59 PM |
Nice debut by Muniz! Now let's get 'em all back!
Valadius Sep 25 2007 06:59 PM |
That was an excellent stab by Wright to rob Maxwell.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:00 PM |
Oops -- I was following on MLB.com and they have a shot of Glavine w/ the stripes and blue cap.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 07:04 PM |
Not pinstriped neither.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:04 PM |
8-5 Atlanta.
holychicken Sep 25 2007 07:06 PM |
I know it sounds crazy. . . but are the Nats stealing signs or something?
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:09 PM |
Bergman's over 100 pitches (Thanks to Alou's marathon at-bat) Let's get this guy out of here.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:10 PM |
'I know it sounds crazy. . . but are the Nats stealing signs or something?"
Rockin' Doc Sep 25 2007 07:11 PM |
Since I can't see the Mets game, I decided to catch the Braves game in hopes of cheering them on against the Phillies. Just my luck, TBS isn't carrying the game tonight. It's not often I would wish to cheer for the Braves (okay it's practically never), but I'm willing to make the sacrifice if it helps the Mets clinch a postseason spot.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:12 PM |
Last night, WR pinch-hit Green for Conine to avoid righty-righty... will he do the opposite now to avoid lefty-lefty?
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:13 PM |
You let smoking hot Green face a lefty here or go to Niner?
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:14 PM |
C'mon Shawn!!!!!!
A Boy Named Seo Sep 25 2007 07:14 PM |
Green's been smoking mostly righties, no? Gotta go with Conine, I think.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:14 PM |
I think I let Nine take a cut.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:14 PM |
Edgy--Leave Green in.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:15 PM |
Sticking with the Greenback is fine.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 07:16 PM |
I woulda PH-ed
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:19 PM |
Damn. That was our best shot.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:20 PM |
Muniz gets a second inning...
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:23 PM |
So would I. But I said so.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:25 PM |
Zimmerman is as far off the plate as Piazza.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:26 PM |
Radio guys critical of Willie for leaving Muniz in for this batter....
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 07:27 PM |
Gotta induce the triple play here.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:29 PM |
Utley homers. Man, he is good. 8-6 Atlanta, bottom 7, 2 out.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:29 PM |
And Green comes out now in a double switch.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 07:30 PM |
Willie, you schmuck, WHY are you sending Carlos Freaking Gomez in for Shawn Green? Gomez can't hit for shit!!!
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:30 PM |
Way to go, Rook.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:30 PM |
Nope, it's Sosa....
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:31 PM |
It's a double switch. They happen.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 07:33 PM |
WHAT WAS THAT?!?!?!?
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:34 PM |
Delgado saved a run.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:34 PM |
Nice job Willie. Schneider is a LEFTY. Schoeneweis is a lefty. WAKE THE HELL UP!
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 07:34 PM |
Reyes is going to play us right out of the playoffs. What a fucking disaster.
SteveJRogers Sep 25 2007 07:35 PM |
8-3. Time to start a rally
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:35 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Sep 25 2007 07:35 PM |
Howie Rose just said what I said. Rose is smart! And doesn't mind criticizing the home team.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:35 PM |
Beaten by Schneider?
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:35 PM |
Sosa.............c'mon, guys.......killing me.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 07:36 PM |
Sosa got two outs. Its that Reyes can't be bothered to pull his head out of his ass.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 07:37 PM |
- It was Delgado ranging too far (Castillo had that lined up) - Reyes assuming that Castillo was getting it so he didn't cover - And then Sosa assuming the play was going to 2nd so HE was late in covering 1st - Oh yeah, and Delgado bobbled it. Other than that it was played perfectly.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:37 PM |

My e-mail keeps imploring me to vote him for the Hank Aaron Award.

SteveJRogers Sep 25 2007 07:37 PM |
Anyone ever check out MLB GameDay's Chat Rooms?
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:37 PM |
Nicely done, FK.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 07:38 PM |
Someone needs to check Reyes' locker for, shall we say, "recreational substances". Or maybe he found Doc and Straw's stash.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:38 PM |
Rally, you bastards.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:38 PM |

I checked twice... morons. Not high brow discourse like us!
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:39 PM |

Well, yeah. But he gave up two runs first! Realizing that the screwed-up play isn't his fault. but...damn.

Kid Carsey Sep 25 2007 07:39 PM |
FK: >>>- It was Delgado ranging too far (Castillo had that lined up)

Wrong substances Val, wrong substances Uh...not that I would know the difference from personal usage =;)
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 07:42 PM |
OK. Now get picked off.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:43 PM |
Get caught stealing, don't come back to the bench.
SteveJRogers Sep 25 2007 07:43 PM |

Yeah I figured it wasn't much beyond "WE RULEZ! YOU SUKS!" sort of discussion with no real PBP.
Kid Carsey Sep 25 2007 07:43 PM |
EEshhh, almost does. **throws sneaker at Johnny**
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:43 PM |

Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:44 PM |

SteveJRogers Sep 25 2007 07:44 PM |

Actually MAYBE Reyes should check into what Doc and Darryl did in order to get jump started again! SC=100

metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:46 PM |
WE RULEZ! YOU SUKS!
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:46 PM |

Valadius Sep 25 2007 07:48 PM |
I'm wondering if Jonathan Albaladejo sets the record for most syllables in an MLB player's name.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 07:48 PM |
This pitcher's name sounds like the town in Mexico that Andy DuFresne escaped to.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:49 PM |
Bigpitch.
metirish Sep 25 2007 07:49 PM |

bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:50 PM |
Philadelphia out in the 8th. Atlanta 8-6, top 9. 7-8-9 due up for Philadelphia.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 07:50 PM |
Not an MVP night for David.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 07:50 PM |
This has just been a Murphy's Law kind of month.

bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 07:51 PM |

Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 07:51 PM |

Zihuatanejo.....................

i can't believe i'm happy about that.
Rockin' Doc Sep 25 2007 08:00 PM |
Chipper just went Kaboom!!! Braves 10 Phillies 6 in the top of the ninth.
Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 08:01 PM |
Wouldn't it be just the cruelest punishment to see the Braves wind up with the division? I'm almost rooting for it.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 08:02 PM |
Chipper!! I used to hate that guy.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 08:03 PM |

Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 08:06 PM |

Valadius Sep 25 2007 08:07 PM |

A part of me wonders why the Met-Brave rivalry was still relevant since 2002. Even last couple of years just never felt the same as 98-01.
SteveJRogers Sep 25 2007 08:10 PM |
I mean I'm shocked that TH remained in tact this year, yes the Braves came in looking improved but still. Just not the same

Tomahawk chop at Shea. Funny stuff.

SteveJRogers Sep 25 2007 08:18 PM |

Oh, I didn't know what you meant by that. Someone joked that stuff like "WE RULZ" was the only kind of thing posted on the MLB chat on Gameday. So I posted it here trying to be funny -- a weak attempt at humor while bottoming out.
bmfc1 Sep 25 2007 08:21 PM |
I got it, MGIM. Good stuff.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 08:22 PM |
If Willie doesn't hit for Gomez, I'm gonna get really angry.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 08:22 PM |
Yeah, you did.

Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 08:23 PM |
It just wouldn't be a Nationals game without double-digit runs.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 08:24 PM |
Here we go!
Rockin' Doc Sep 25 2007 08:25 PM |
An Atlanta hot streak seems to be the Mets best hope for fending off the Phillies. The Braves have Hudson and Smoltz going in the next two games in Philadelphia.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 08:27 PM |
Valad's gonna be angry.
Rockin' Doc Sep 25 2007 08:28 PM |
I think a lot of the CPF is going to be angry. Maybe disgusted is a more fitting word.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 08:28 PM |
Willie, I hate you.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 08:29 PM |
Jose on schedule to make the last out.

metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 08:29 PM |

C'mon. Rauch has thrown about 130 games this year.

I'm with MGIM.

TransMonk Sep 25 2007 08:54 PM |
I heard on the radio as I was driving home that they were down 10-3 in the ninth. I turned on the game right as Reyes hit his 2nd HR.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 08:54 PM |
Fun inning there fore a while -- but unfortunately it's too late in the year for moral victories and nothing can cover up the recent pitching deficiencies.
Frayed Knot Sep 25 2007 08:56 PM |
A 3 hour 40 minute game ... and it's STILL quicker than the still in progress Yanqui game.

Johnny Dickshot Sep 25 2007 08:57 PM |

Down 7 we score 6 (Reyes 3r HR, Aliu 3-r double) and have the tying run at 2nd but it stops there when Delgado whiffs as Chavez (running for Alou) stupidly but safely steals 3rd and LoDuca pops up like a douchebag.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 25 2007 08:57 PM |
I bet they go out tomorrow and beat the snot out of these guys. Humber gets a win and we'll be at 3.
Edgy DC Sep 25 2007 08:57 PM |
I'll take a moral victory if it means something tomorrow. It beats the alternative that we had heading to the ninth.
soupcan Sep 25 2007 09:01 PM |
This team, the Mets, that all you guys like and root for?
metirish Sep 25 2007 09:16 PM |
I'm shattered after that....really WTF was Chavez at,I can't remember a Mets team so terrible and dumb on the bases, and it sseems to have gotten worse in the second half....
metirish Sep 25 2007 09:19 PM |
And Kevin Burkhart tells us tonight that Fred came down to have a chat with Willie and Omar over reports that they are on the outs,Omar then give Willie a vote of confidence.......

Is there another way to pop up?

Unfortunately for him, Willie's certainly been around long enough (and been around the Bronx long enough) to have an idea what that's worth.
martin Sep 25 2007 10:07 PM |
went to the game. nobody was left in the stands for the comeback.
Zvon Sep 25 2007 10:54 PM |
I say the hitting barrage in the 9th gives us the momentum we need to close this thing out.

Just read the IGT. That was a perfect description of exactly what happened there FK. In the box score it looks like a simple infield single. In reality it was a blotched play and the following run ended up being a big run for the Nats. A BIG run

so what? a walk is as good as a single, 200 hits is way overrated. triples are nice, but a homerun is better and plenty of guys have hit 40 homers, so theres really nothing that special about 25 homers and 15 triples together either.
Valadius Sep 25 2007 11:51 PM |
Rollins is not going to win.

I think the near comeback in the ninth means nothing going forward, scoring runs has not been a problem, our pitching is piss poor and we have a rookie going out there tonight, the Braves have Hudson going tonight so maybe that will be a help.

The 7 was shut down in GCT around 6:30 due to a stalled train.... They ripped my freaking heart out. I went to the game - took the train in, and because the 7 was shut down, grabbed a cab with a few others who were also going to the game... I got there in the 2nd inning, with the score already 4-1, so I never felt like they were in it until the end. They had to make me believe first before they shoved the knife deep into my heart, the bastards.

I imagined the Nationals radio announcer saying, "The Nationals win! They win the damn thing by a score of 10 to 9!"
