Seriously, what?

You're Willie. You come to work today determined to win. What are your options in making that happen? Which do you choose?

I'm sure everybody's as sure as I am that they're smarter than Willie, but I can't think of how I'd be doing better right now. Maybe Willie's inability to inspire can indirectly be linked going back months to Wright's throwing the ball away or Wagner not dealing with the stress that has bolluxed his back through a steady regimen of yoga and mindfulnees, but now, right now, what do you do?

Castillo or Gotay? Dependeing on Castillo's knee report? Does it make a difference? Do you give a shit?

Let your starters ride to stay out of the bullpen? Go early to the pen to save the starters? Does it make a difference? Do you give a shit?

Chavez, Green, Wright, or Milledge in right?

Do you speak with Wright or will that only aggravate his chronic ninth-inning yips? Do you have a heart-to-heart with Reyes? Have HoJo work him over? Henderson? Difference? Shit?

Delgado time?

Difference?

Shit?

AGH! What a crap day to be Willie. He's just got to take consolation that he's not at home hearing it from the kamakzes.

I suppose Willie can talk to guys but really after putting the names on the game sheet not much he can do for them, just try and manage them I guess.

If Castillo can play, Castillo. He knows better than I do, otherwise it's the Goat.

I tell Pedro I need at least 6 from him tonight. Sosa gets the night off. I'd tell Muniz he better be ready to play and to play hard.

Milledge in RF.

I remind Wright and Reyes that they are champions, and then I show them this picture and ask them how bad they want it:

Delgado should be ready. Green has the night off and won't be available due to the holiday. It's a lefty starter for the fish anyways, Conine would have to go in Delgado's stead.

Castillo at second if he can go. Delgado at first if he can go (he can rest in 10 days). Chavez in right (Green is out for the Jewish holiday, and I'm just about fed up with Milledge).

And last but not least:

"Here, Petey. Give me 100 pitches of your best stuff."

Then cross fingers.

Hahn is forgetting or doesn't care that there is a leftfinned fish going tonight.

I like Transmonk as a motivator.

Is Feliciano tonight's closer or Heilman?

Delgado, yes.

Let Pedro pitch as long as he feels he can. He's a fierce competitor and I'll bet he's fired up for this. I don't know why his pitch count has been so high in his three starts so far. Hopefully he'll get a few eight-pitch innings in there.

I'd prefer to have Green in the lineup, too. He's a veteran, and he's been keeping it cool. Can we get the holiday rescheduled until November?

I remembered we were facing a lefty when discussing Delgado (let it rip, Carlos) but conveniently forgot when I buried Lastings. Prove me wrong, Milledge.

I'd say Heilman, only because Willie seems inclined to remove Feliciano after one pitch.

What would really make sense, though, is if the bottom of the ninth has righties coming up, Heilman, and if lefties, Feliciano.

Do the old Orosco/McDowell (or McGraw/Frisella) thing.

Word.

Except that, with the bullpen going the way it's going, we'll be darned lucky to have both of those guys still available in the ninth inning tonight.

Hahn....Chavez over Milledge in RF?.....I'd rather go with LM,maybe the tirade works to get him some great AB's tonight.

EDIT - Didn't see your other post Hahn.

Olsen is a lefty so Milledge goes in RF.

I'm with YSG here.
