90% pitching, the other 1/2 is mental

I think that's the Yogi quote.

Anyway - as if we didn't already know how bad the pitching has been recently, the Mets led the league in runs scored this past week:

Mon - 4
Tue - 8
Wed - 8
Thu - 7
Fri - 9
Sat - 7
Sun - 7
Total - 50

They scored at least 7 runs in 6 consecutive games and only won 4 of those games and were lucky to win that many.

Consider that the Rockies - who were second in runs scored this past week with 42 - have won 8 in a row.

What are we to expect from the Mets in the postseason when the Nats and Fish are teeing off on this staff a week before they may be facing playoff teams?

Tiime to stock up on the Nexium my friends.

Right now, I have little confidence that the Mets will get far in the postseason.

But, fiddle-dee-dee, I'll worry about that tomorrow.

Let's clinch a playoff spot first, and then we'll take our chances in the playoffs.

Things might look a whole light brighter next Tuesday. As we've seen, things can change quickly.

That amount of runs scored in consecutive games is some sort of record for the Mets, yeah if they continue to give up a shit load of runs per game in the post-season then I would say it's one and done.

Well, three and done, but whatever. I'll worry about the post-season if they make it.
