The 88 Mets Sure Did Rock (Split from 9/24 IGT)

I wonder, and seriously as the '73 team gets honored at the same time markers as the '69ners do, if the 1988 team will get, to a lesser extent obviously, some sort of tribute next year?

Prolly not. But for the most part, the 88s get honored with the 86ers, seeing as they were for the most part the same group. I consider them all part of the same era where the Mets were the undisputed kings of rock no matter how the results came out.

Alas for poor Kevin McReynolds and David Cone.

In an act of quesitonable judgement, the MVP in 1988 went to Kirk Gibson. I submit the real most valuable player in 1988 for the National League and for the Dodgers was Orel Hershiser.

My big regret of that series was not the Scioscia HR, it was the fact that we won the first 2 games started by Hershiser and still couldn't polish them off.
