Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 05:15 PM |
Seems a bit of a delayed start, it's already quarter after.
TransMonk Sep 28 2007 05:19 PM |
We'll be a little late tonight. The grounds are wet.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 05:24 PM |
Pinstripes. Blue Hats.

metsmarathon Sep 28 2007 05:28 PM |
i wanna personally slap the motherfuckers who booed after that shot.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 05:31 PM |
I was really hoping we'd manage an easy win tonight just to get the ball rolling.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 28 2007 05:32 PM |
The booing is bad. I'm sure they're already gripping as it is.
metsmarathon Sep 28 2007 05:32 PM |
it can still be easy.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 28 2007 05:33 PM |
OK, Ollie. That was the out of the box yips.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 05:37 PM |
I have a bad feeling about tonight. Kim's fastball is popping, and Ross nabbing Castillo's fly strikes me as a bad sign. I think the Marlins came to play, and I've yet to see any evidence that we have.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 28 2007 05:42 PM |
Ollie seems to have settled down. Now let's get the bats in gear.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 28 2007 05:49 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Sep 28 2007 05:50 PM |
And this is our luck -- two men on base with two out and the pitcher in the box...
metsmarathon Sep 28 2007 05:49 PM |
ollie came to play...
metsguyinmichigan Sep 28 2007 05:50 PM |
Oh man, and here I was doubting Ollie with the bat!!!
cooby Sep 28 2007 05:51 PM |
I'm sitting here listening to the high school football game on the radio and they gave both the Mets and Phillies game scores. Now THAT's a pennant race.
metsmarathon Sep 28 2007 06:00 PM |
in david's defense, i don't think he was in a position to step on the bag from trying to catch the high throw... but, ugh...
Mr. Zero Sep 28 2007 06:05 PM |
holy freakin crap.

Beltran with a MAMMOTH SHOT
metsmarathon Sep 28 2007 06:15 PM |

Mr. Zero Sep 28 2007 06:17 PM |
that shot was beautiful.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 06:36 PM |
Fucking Reyes.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 06:42 PM |
Newhan, not part of the plan.
TransMonk Sep 28 2007 06:44 PM |

Thanks, Marlon.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 06:45 PM |
The not cutting the ball off before that was worse, and I agree that Keith

Mr. Zero Sep 28 2007 06:47 PM |
Willie asking Pedro if he can go a couple innings.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 06:49 PM |
Doubt that.

Mr. Zero Sep 28 2007 06:50 PM |
Being semi sarcastic.

Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 06:52 PM |
Being very sarcastic.
seawolf17 Sep 28 2007 06:55 PM |
Bye, playoffs.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 06:56 PM |
7-3, middle of the fifth.
seawolf17 Sep 28 2007 06:57 PM |
So, you mean:
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 06:59 PM |
No, I meant triple to start off the inning :-)
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 07:02 PM |
The freakin' nuns in the Mezz Boxes are with us!!!
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:06 PM |
Go, nuns!
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 07:06 PM |

Indeed. This is interminable, and yet, I keep watching.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 07:08 PM |
Since there's no OoTS ... Phils are up 4-sniffle.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:21 PM |
EWJ out by Schoeneweis.
TransMonk Sep 28 2007 07:22 PM |
I find I don't hate Schoeneweis as much as I did a couple of months ago.
TransMonk Sep 28 2007 07:23 PM |
2 run dinger by Howard. We need this game 'cause the Phillies don't seem to be looking back.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 07:24 PM |
6 - sniffle, Phils.
Frayed Knot Sep 28 2007 07:24 PM |
Nice to escape futher damage there but JEEZ can we have a 1-2-3 inning once in a while?
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:32 PM |
Let's see maybe some Milledge.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:36 PM |
Or Niner. Let's go, Mets.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:37 PM |
Boo.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:42 PM |
Aaron's being turned into a workhorse, as the most dependable of a suddenly marvelously undependable lot.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 07:45 PM |
Why Conine and not Milledge?
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 07:49 PM |
Heilman gets through the 7th, still 7-4.

I'd like to see a couple things he used to do: get on base, steal a base, score . . . Especially that last one. Come on, guys, despite my negativity, I haven't given up hope yet. Scratch a run or two across here, and show a little pride.
Sure, but in his limited sample size, Milledge is a world-class pinch hitter. 8 AB: .375 AVG/.444 OBP/.625 SLG/1.069

I think you're right. Given how little we're using him during this stretch, I'd rather we'd have traded him for one of those bullpen arms. It would have been a terrible deal, but if we're not using him anyway . . . ETA: Castillo wants to win tonight. Good. Let's get it going, Mets!
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 07:59 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Sep 28 2007 08:00 PM |
Castillo with the type of infield base hit with a hobbled leg that Jose
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 07:59 PM |
That's cool. Just chip away.
Frayed Knot Sep 28 2007 08:00 PM |
Gotta at least get SOMETHING here!!
cooby Sep 28 2007 08:07 PM |
What's going on? Delgado hasn't really been on deck for 10 minutes has he?
Frayed Knot Sep 28 2007 08:08 PM |
THAT may have been our last best chance.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 08:08 PM |
Well, we still have 6 outs left, but after that last inning . . .
holychicken Sep 28 2007 08:09 PM |
I can't believe the Mets aren't going to make the postseason.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 08:10 PM |
Mets are officially out of first place for the time being.
TransMonk Sep 28 2007 08:14 PM |
Great outing by Heilman.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 08:17 PM |
You're prompting all sorts of horrible scenarios in my head, holychicken, including a shallow outfield collision involving Reyes, Wright & Beltran. In other words, it can always get worse. But I agree that our prospects are grim and getting grimmer.
metirish Sep 28 2007 08:17 PM |
No but it probably will get worse.
metsguyinmichigan Sep 28 2007 08:19 PM |
Just....stunned. Never thought it would really get to this.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 08:20 PM |
That Volare crap ain't helpin' my demeanor.
martin Sep 28 2007 08:21 PM |
why cant castro play? freaking loduca is hobbling like an old man! damnit damnit damnit
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 08:23 PM |
Yup. The lack of awareness in self-promotion by this team can be epic, sometimes.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 08:26 PM |
No shit. I'm glad that Paulie wants to play, but it's Willie's job to step in and say, "Hey, dude, you can't throw and you can't swing--you're out." Preferably BEFORE giving up one of our precious outs. If Paulie wants to throw a temper tantrum, well, Willie should be man enough to handle it. That was the dumbest at bat I've seen all year.
Frayed Knot Sep 28 2007 08:26 PM |
Pop-Up, Pop-Up, Pop-Up... and Reyes wasn't even one of the hitters.
metirish Sep 28 2007 08:27 PM |
I feel sick and it's not form the Popeye's Chicken.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 08:30 PM |
Keith shocked at how much the Mets have been taking lately, compared to earlier in the year.
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 08:31 PM |
Score now. Please.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 08:32 PM |
Well, we got three outs to get at least three runs.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 08:32 PM |
There's still a crowd pulling for them there, God bless them.
metirish Sep 28 2007 08:33 PM |
Come On you fucking Mets........

Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 08:36 PM |

Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 08:36 PM |

Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 08:37 PM |
Got to take a strike, Luis.
Frayed Knot Sep 28 2007 08:38 PM |
Reyes's only hit corresponds with Castillo's only out -- story of the month.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 08:42 PM |
Oh well.
Edgy DC Sep 28 2007 08:43 PM |
Peace, brothers.
metirish Sep 28 2007 08:44 PM |
Padres are winning 6 - 3 in the 8th, so if they win we will be two games back in the WC.......
Rotblatt Sep 28 2007 08:44 PM |
Man, I'm going to tomorrow's game, and I don't think I could possibly be less excited about it.
metirish Sep 28 2007 08:47 PM |
If the Padres win Rott then we are looking for the Nats to help and us to win the last two.
metsmarathon Sep 28 2007 08:54 PM |
blurg.
Kid Carsey Sep 28 2007 08:54 PM |
Watching the post-game ... reminded that Perez freakin' nailed three guys.

I'll be there, right on the Marlin dugout. Hoping like hell that its not my last trip to Shea this fall.
