Ha, I forgot how much I've missed the Pettitte brim scowl. Not.

If Grady would've had more than a 9 ft. lead, he could've broken up that DP.

Indians strand a lead-off triple as Pettitte is rockin' and a rollin' along.

First time seeing this Cleveland satrting pitcher, just struck out Rodriguez, he's got great stuff.

Jaret Wright II, baby. The Yanks'll get him after two elbow surgeries.
|
Kid Carsey Oct 05 2007 05:35 PM |
Jaba throws some nasty stuff, but you'd think they'd lay off him a little bit

Does a break to spray some Off count as a mound visit?
|
Kid Carsey Oct 05 2007 05:55 PM |
I don't think I've ever seen anything like the bugs that have taken over
|
seawolf17 Oct 05 2007 06:12 PM |
Dude, this is totally gross. You're telling me the umpires can't call a bug delay to bomb the place? Eeeew.
|
Kid Carsey Oct 05 2007 06:25 PM |
I ain't doing pbp for a Yankee game, but I have to say it's fun to see

Kid Carsey Oct 05 2007 06:26 PM |

Two out man on third for the Indians.
|
metirish Oct 05 2007 06:57 PM |
They walked the hitter to make it first and third then Rivera hits the batter and it's bases loaded.
|
seawolf17 Oct 05 2007 06:58 PM |
This really is one heckuva game.
|

Rivera strikes Peralta out and we go to the 11th.
|
seawolf17 Oct 05 2007 07:24 PM |
Baaaaaases loaded and one out in the bottom of the eleventh for the unfortunately named Asdrubal Cabrera.
|
seawolf17 Oct 05 2007 07:27 PM |
You know? I really enjoy watching Joe Torre. He's such a cartoon character. I want to be able to have Joe Torre p-in-p at all times.

Whacky game, would felt bad for Indians fans if they didn't find a way
|
metirish Oct 05 2007 07:35 PM |
Great game with brilliant pitching, Perez out of the pen was just great as well.

I think this game was a game of destiny. If the Indians ever have to change their name, I swear to God, it's gotta be the Insects.
|
Benjamin Grimm Oct 05 2007 08:38 PM |
I'd love to see them change their name to the Spiders.
|
Frayed Knot Oct 05 2007 08:46 PM |
Well, they were once called the 'Spiders'.
|
Johnny Dickshot Oct 05 2007 09:14 PM |
That was just a classic. Loath to admit so but Pettitte is a magnificent competitor. I mean, leadoff triple and he stopped them cold, picked off Lofton, etc etc,
|
Grote15 Oct 05 2007 09:27 PM |
How about a bloated Clemens losing game 3

The Cleveland Spiders were a National League team wrecked by the careless inbreeding of syndicate baseball. Cleveland Indians were and are a whole other franchise, founded two years after the 1899 Spiders of 20-134 infamy went out of business. The Indians actually grew out of the Cleveland Blues of the Western League...though one imagines Spiders fans had loads of Cleveland blues by 1900.

Cy Young was a star hurler for them, who competed in a couple of "Temple Cup" series, one of the three precursors to the modern World Series. They were a pretty darn good club. Same thing actually happened with the Baltimore Oriole dynasty of the same era.
