IGT ALDS Game 2, Yanks at Indians

Kid Carsey

I'm diggin' the starting time ... nice way to kick off a three day weekend!

Ha, I forgot how much I've missed the Pettitte brim scowl. Not.

If Grady would've had more than a 9 ft. lead, he could've broken up that DP.

Indians strand a lead-off triple as Pettitte is rockin' and a rollin' along.

1 - sniffle through six.

First time seeing this Cleveland satrting pitcher, just struck out Rodriguez, he's got great stuff.

Jaret Wright II, baby. The Yanks'll get him after two elbow surgeries.

Jaba throws some nasty stuff, but you'd think they'd lay off him a little bit
and not three strike swing at three balls on the rook.

Does a break to spray some Off count as a mound visit?

Kid Carsey
Oct 05 2007 05:55 PM

I don't think I've ever seen anything like the bugs that have taken over
in Cleveland. They just showed a shot of Jaba's head and he has shit craw-
ling all over him.

Dude, this is totally gross. You're telling me the umpires can't call a bug delay to bomb the place? Eeeew.

I ain't doing pbp for a Yankee game, but I have to say it's fun to see
Rodriguez's struggles in the post-season continue.

I'm so focused on wanting the Yanks to lose that I forgot to give a huge
shout-out to Carmona who outlasted Andy-Boy and has been brilliant!

This Carmona can sure pitch , not saying anything about Rodriguez in case I jinx things.

Two out man on third for the Indians.

They walked the hitter to make it first and third then Rivera hits the batter and it's bases loaded.

This really is one heckuva game.

Rivera strikes Peralta out and we go to the 11th.

Baaaaaases loaded and one out in the bottom of the eleventh for the unfortunately named Asdrubal Cabrera.

You know? I really enjoy watching Joe Torre. He's such a cartoon character. I want to be able to have Joe Torre p-in-p at all times.

Infield fly, two out. Nuts.

The Yankees lose! Theeeeeeeeeeee Yankees lose!

That was a lot of fun.

Bugs notwithstanding.

I hereby declare tomorrow to be Travis Hafner Day.

Whacky game, would felt bad for Indians fans if they didn't find a way
to finally pull a win out of all those LOB's.

On to the Bronx ....

Great game with brilliant pitching, Perez out of the pen was just great as well.

I think this game was a game of destiny. If the Indians ever have to change their name, I swear to God, it's gotta be the Insects.

I'd love to see them change their name to the Spiders.

The regular season sucked, but so far the postseason is going very well. Three of the teams I'm rooting for lead their Series 2 games to none.

Well, they were once called the 'Spiders'.

* Indians should have won that game about 5 different times
They out-baserunnered the Yanx about 10 to 2 at one point but Wedge small-balled them out of several of those runners; one got caught stealing, one on a pickoff (where were you going Kenny?), I think two on GiDPs, and one thrown out at the plate (he was dead but w/2 outs it was the right call to send him IMO). Not that Pettitte doesn't also deserve a lot of the credit.

* And geez Eric you think you bunted enough? Between giving up runners (most of which were leadoff) and giving up outs you were doing Torre a lot of favors.

* Funny thing is the little talk radio I heard today mostly consisted of Yanqui fans complaing that Torre didn't bunt enough in Game 1 (guess that would have helped erase that 2-touchdown defecit)

* Now 0-fer-7 with nothing but infield pop-ups & Ks, the ARod choke watch is officially on.

* Only the Yanx could turn a 1-1 9 inning game into a 3+ hour affair

That was just a classic. Loath to admit so but Pettitte is a magnificent competitor. I mean, leadoff triple and he stopped them cold, picked off Lofton, etc etc,

Glad to see Joba the Fatt blow one too. He had that coming weeks ago.

How about a bloated Clemens losing game 3

That return speech to save the Team from Steinbrenners box was sick..What a friggin mercenary

The Cleveland Spiders were a National League team wrecked by the careless inbreeding of syndicate baseball. Cleveland Indians were and are a whole other franchise, founded two years after the 1899 Spiders of 20-134 infamy went out of business. The Indians actually grew out of the Cleveland Blues of the Western League...though one imagines Spiders fans had loads of Cleveland blues by 1900.

Cy Young was a star hurler for them, who competed in a couple of "Temple Cup" series, one of the three precursors to the modern World Series.

They were a pretty darn good club. Same thing actually happened with the Baltimore Oriole dynasty of the same era.
