I've raised this issue before, but today's example is so bad that I wanted to raise it again.
This from Jon Heyman of SI.com
"People close to the situation would be shocked if Posada went anywhere else. The Mets are in the market for a catcher, but even[u:7ce7766d56] a Mets person [/u:7ce7766d56]said, "You honestly think the Yankees are letting him come here?'
In a word, no."
A Mets person?
Who, exactly, is "a Mets person?" A scout? A front office executive? A player? A guy sitting watching a game at Damon's wearing a Mets cap?
It could be anybody -- and nobody.
Typical lazy-assed reporting from Heyman. It would be one thing if he had a decent story and he had to protect a source. But these writers are getting more and more generic and vague.
(Jumps off soapbox, again)
