Fired

Wildfires. I'm in Long Beach so they're either north of me (Malibu) or south (OC and SD), but even here the air here is real smokey and a thin layer of soot is settling over everything. The Santiago fire is closest to me and I'd guess that's where most of this is coming from.

I went surfing this morning and out on the water looking back to the land was incredible and incredibly freaky. Thick brown and gray clouds to both my left and right and insane winds blowing not from the ocean to the shore like they normally do, but from inland out to the ocean, blowing all the smoke and from what I keep hearing, chasing the fire to new areas and towards the coast.

This pic from CNN is what I'm talking about. You could smell the smoke on the ocean. I hope this winds starts to die down soon.

I hope the weather gives the firefighters a break soon so they can get the fires under control. It seems that wildfires are a frequent problem in southern California.

Yikes, stay safe.

But that must be quite an experience to see that while surfing.

i know they dont ALL start this way, but throwing a lit cigarette out a car window should really carry 10 years out there.
