That's the kind of money I would have expected any other team to pay to get him, so I am happy it didn't get to a bidding war where the Mets would end up going for more years.

I would have liked him on a two-year deal but at his age four is way too many years.

Agreed.

Assuming he goes back to hitting .270 instead of the .338 or so he put up this year, you move the typical Posada .270/20/85 numbers to 1B or DH and he's just league average. Plus who knows how well his glove holds up over the long term at 1B.

I am relieved that we won't be paying a 40 year old guy $13 mil to be our catcher come 2011 (hopefully).
