Which of these songs would you least NOT want to put on a mix CD

Dancing Queen

SNL tries to "Sink" ABBA, and tells the nation, some 30 years before Ashlee Simpson, that yes, performers will lip-synch on SNL

This song recently was the NTRA's (Horse Racing) theme in a recent marketing campaign, Take A Chance

"Take a Chance" edges their non-ballot last stateside hit "The Winner Takes It All." I like the backup vocals.

Take a Chance always sticks with me, oddly enough, because of a FOX montage they did during Game 7 of the '06 NLCS with the song matched up to highlights of Oliver's start.

I am still laughing at "Take a Chance" as performed by that guy on "The Office." That was funny.

Missing a video, Steve J.

I like them all (heard Dancing Queen at work the other day and thought of this place for some reason) but "Take a Chance on Me" reminds me of my husband

Interesting factoid, it was writer Michael O'Donoghue's intent to completly embarrass ABBA in their apperance, based on the fact that he hated them and that whole genre.

So even though he had them on the Titantic and had the chryon actually say that they were lip-synching, he still wound up doing extra work in the numbers! He is the guy with the beard sitting at the table with the "captain" played by Robert Klein. O'Donoghue must have been quite a masochist as well as a dark humorist.

]Which of these songs would you least NOT want to put on a mix CD

Am I the only one here who doesn't understand this sentence?
I don't know if I'm supposed to pick the song I most want to hear or most want to leave off.

Eh, doesn't matter. In a long-ago thread on 'guilty pleasure' songs I fessed up to 'Dancing Queen' as mine.

I like "SOS" best, though "Take a Chance" is a good song, too.

My best friend growing up was a huge Abba fan. So I know far more about them than I should.

I didn't get that sentence at all either. I just voted for the song I liked best. I hope that was right.

I took that sentence to mean that you may not like any of the songs much, but that you have to pick one of them. I picked "Take a Chance on Me" as the song that I found least objectionable.

Could I just cut my wrists open with the mix CD?

Thats what I was going for with this thread, pretty much as what Johnny Lunchbucket said in my Buffett Desert Island thread

]As much as we want to strangle Steve J. with our bare hands, and perhaps, do that thing where you cup your hands and whack him of the sides of the head so as to deafen him, he at least is hitting upon the proper spirit of the DIMxT by forcing the audience to confront a body of work they might not like, albeit for all the wrong reasons.

I promise to attempt to get through these tunes and pick the one that makes he hurl the least and you should too.

Nobody ever said being stranded on a desert isle was going to be fun. Unless MaryAnn was there.

While I am a fan of Buffett, I am not a fan of ABBA, and pretty much have the same reaction of Robert Klein in that "sketch" whenever I hear an ABBA song on the radio. Just having a little fun with this particular one.
